  1. Kiss Privacy Goodbye on SBC Fights RIAA Over DMCA Subpoenas · · Score: 1
    Kiss privacy goodbye.

It's so funny, while Congres passes gigantic privacy laws that require every doctor, dentist, pharmicist and bank (ETC.) to post their PRIVACY policies, provide opt-outs and require customer signatures annually, ANYONE can merely claim you've violated their copyright (wihout any proof or even documentation of the copyright itself) and demand and receive full personal information from an ISP.

    the WIZ............

  2. Re:what a crappy site on RIAA Sues Backbone ISPs to Censor Website · · Score: 1

The RIAA doesn't give a rat's ass about Lister4Ever. This is just a trail balloon (pun intended) to set a legal precedent that will allow them to go after much bigger and legally more difficult fish including the gnuetella network and ultimately, all p2p file sharing.

To those who think the RIAA is a more dangerous emeny than Saddam and IRAQ - you're absolutely right. The RIAA is the enemy within.

  3. Re:A load of bull. on Universal to Copyprotect All CDs · · Score: 1

"The Final Solution" envisioned by Jack and Hilary is to send all mp3's to the furnaces. Congress, completely in the pockets of Hollywood, will pass laws making mp3's illegal. No computer (or any device of any type) will be allowed to play or rip anything. Period.

  4. Re:sure, I'll buy that approach. on Sony VP On Stopping Napster · · Score: 1
Alas, you underestimate Sony's power (and the power of the RIAA). They will take this case to congress and get new tough copyright protection laws passed. Laws that will allow prosicution of ISP's (the small minority of ISPs that AOL and Time Warner won't own outright after the mergers and acquisitions).

Why do you think Hollywood is contributing millions and millions of dollars to the DNC, Al Gore and the Clintons (plural).

Once the ISP's can be effectively sued, they will cut off all trading of any file remotely connected to copyright violation. Carnivoire will turn it's attention to looking for Metallica files, instead of looking for international terrorists (and hackers).

Oh, there will always be a few who will go to any extreme to disguise files and trade, but the masses will be cut off forever. And, in the name of copyright protection, we will all lose our freedom of speech.

Remember, these are the folks who are suing Copyleft for making a lousy tee shirt!
