You may want to look up "monopoly" in the dictionary.
A dictionary is a book that has sentences which describe what an individual word is. You can go to a library or bookstore (they have pages of paper with words written on them, which is the form a dictionary tends to come in). Or search the web for information (probably using Google, which is a good example of an actual monopoly).
When the government loans money to a business to keep it afloat, its usually called a "bail out." It has nothing to do with monopolies. There is an entirely different term for this type of situation.
To the uninitiated (read: you), OpenGL didn't seem to advance much with OpenGL. But what Khronos did was clean up the API and remove the old features that are no longer needed.
So, to the inexperienced (read: you), it may seem that they just "neutered" OpenGL. But in reality, they were "cutting the fat," so to speak.
There is nothing you can do in Direct3d that is not possible, in a similar fashion, from modern OpenGL. They do the same things on the same hardware.
But then I got a mouse that exhibited all the classic Windows "features."
When I first got my Microsoft Habu, it worked great. It was fast, accurate and it was reliable.
Then something happened. It started getting less reliable and randomly disconnecting/connecting to the computer. Which is extremely annoying when you're playing a team-based FPS like Quake Wars.
And finally, it just stopped working.. completely.
After that I bought a Logitech G9, very nice mouse and reliable.
I've sworn off their software earlier but now I won't buy any Microsoft products at all.
Looks like I dodged another MS bullet by not buying an Xbox360 as well.
Oh baby, don't be so negative.
I'm karmkarmakarmakarmkarmachemeleon...
Yeah, but at least he has one thing right:
The !phone sucks.
You missed my point!
You already can do both, if you're at least a tiny bit competent.
Uh, China Telecom, Hinet, Korea Telecom, etc.
Ok, so you have actually had to pursue legal action against one of your ISPs.
And now you tell me how much you love the situation down under.
Well, I guess that proves you're Australian.
Australians++

Do the research, you'll find your answers.
Remember, I believe in you! :)
I'm not really a "conservative" but its nice of you to immediately try polarizing the conversation.
Are you serious about using public schools, law enforcement, public libraries, roads and post offices as examples of socialism "done right"?
For real? Maybe this is an American problem, but all of those groups have pretty poor records as far as efficiency goes.
You my friend, obviously do not follow entire threads.
Nice choice of grammar though. I like it, fancy.
Ah, it looks like it's a monopoly and not socialized. I must have been thinking of the rest of Asia. :)
Every Australian I've ever talked to seemed to completely hate their ISP.
From what I remember, isn't the Internet in Australia totally socialized?
Of course the government ISP wouldn't have a problem, they get to define "problem."
that should have been advanced much with "OpenGL 3"

Apparently you haven't seen the press releases for Windows 7.
Yes because such a technical term should not be bandied about lightly.
Wow, talk about bad advice!
"Need less stress in your life? Start your own business... it's EASY."
Please mod parent down.
Sounds like you haven't met many business people.
They're under the illusion that they know *everything* there is to know.
I think you mean John Carmack's retarded half brother, from his mother's second marriage.
I think one thing is clear... the man owns a lot of Intel stock.
Well, lets just hope the bacteria don't discover a +3 wand of human smiting and destroy us all!
I have to disagree with you here. If there's one game that is close to "standing the test of time," it's Counterstrike.
It's one of the few games that hasn't changed much in almost ten years, not at all really, and it hasn't diminished in popularity.
And it's simple enough that skill does really matter... you have to have good reflexes and make good tactical decisions.
Oh and I should point out... the issue is common with the Habu mice. If you google it, you'll find quite a few posts on the subject.
I used to think Microsoft made fantastic mice.
But then I got a mouse that exhibited all the classic Windows "features."

You forgot Horloe, the unconventional game about passing genes from one creature to the next.
Yeah, I was just about to say, it's GNU/Google you insensitive clod!
hmm, I'm not much of a detective.
I know it isn't "Murdered his wife and got away with it."
Wait, I know: They both paid for their wives in some way?
