A properly designed hanging also works this way. Hell, build in a safety factor with extra height and the head literally pops off. No funny contraptions or risk of a ricocheting bullet. Lethal injection is probably one of the worst methods of performing the death penalty. It just looks cleaner. There is just too much unreliability in how the individual reacts to the medication.

When I got my drivers license I didn't have any photo ID. In Ontario there is a vouching system so you use your doctor, dentist, pastor, or other licensed person of notability to confirm your identity. They have to have known you for a period greater than 5 years which is pretty easy with those individuals. I think they risk their professional licensing so the fraud is very low. Hopefully you don't have a party at your house with all the professionals you know and you leave to get more beer when it explodes. Then I have no idea what you would do.

I think the majority of the problem is that Microsoft stock isn't seen as a risky growing company stock. The stockholders aren't expecting quarters with losses. Taking a loss on the tablets is hurting the shareholders profit margin and they aren't happy about it. I think the same concerns were raised with the initial performance of the Xbox so they will probably see it through and improve the tablet. The stockholders will just sit there grinding their teeth.

  5. Re:36% less pain on Male Scent Molecules May Be Compromising Biomedical Research · · Score: 4, Informative

Pain scales in a lab setting are fairly common and rigorous. They mostly use a physical response that can correlated to pain using a complex apparatus. Of course, it is all extremely finicky which is why it took so long for this influencing factor to be detected.

No that is incorrect. He showed that the atmospheric pressure value dropped out of the flow equations. The flow is caused by the difference in pressure generated directly from gravity acting on the columns of water. From what I understood, this is why the predicted cavitation, and break down of the siphon action, occurred when the pressure, not the pressure difference, at the siphon apex dropped to the vapour pressure of water.

  10. Re:Is Ebola a "rapid burnout" disease? on Racing To Contain Ebola · · Score: 1

The benefit of Ebola is that it makes the sick bedridden quickly. In countries with hygiene standards the disease dies out quickly since the pathways of transmission are severely limited. There is research that shows diseases will(in the evolutionary pressure sense, not free will) soften the symptoms to stay in the population. The most successful diseases are the ones where the majority of hosts will ignore the symptoms and go about their daily life.

Its an issue with the inherent chemistry of Li-ion batteries. The overall heat management of the machine isn't significant. Once the batteries fail from the power supply drawing or charging more than a designed current they start a thermal runaway reaction. The batteries will eventually vent a hot fiery gas. There are battery designs that are considered extremely tolerant to thermal runaway, but they have significantly lower energy density.

I think a lot of developers jumped on the f2p concept and kind of lost their minds. The games that let you pay to skip arbitrary delays are the worst. They are basically rewarding you to not play the game. The only people that pay are the ones that get sucked into the game. I guess they work on the same habit-reward cycles that casinos work on. People don't like them, but they still some how have a user base.

I think the US government is looking to eventually legislate it as a requirement. Further, I was taught from a driving instruction video that you are suppose to pop the car into neutral when you have trouble stopping in the winter. Which would have fixed this guy's issue too.
