Can you actually imagine CNN or the Today! show trying to explain deflation? Me niether, which is why they continue to blame falling prices (of everything) on the president.
The fact is, your dollar buys a lot more today than it did in 2001.
I wonder what happened to the days of proofs and showing your work. Even in my college calculus classes the work part was more important than the right answer. Thinking back, it had to be a real pain to grade but at least when you got the work back you knew where you goofed it up.
As for language, I think texting, e-mailing, IM, twitter, etc have ruined languages.
It is rather sad that there have already been over 1,000,000 people who either:
a) will buy whatever apple puts in their stores or have to have the latest trendy product
or
b) apparently don't do anything of value with a computer
I really can't think of any reason to have a computer without a keyboard other than a POS terminal, especially one that can't do Flash.
I have an older Acer netbook. Its great for some things: like traveling, using at on-site jobs, for music on my patio, in the kitchen, etc. Its great for web browsing and checking e-mail. And I could install iTunes on it...
Oh yeah: I paid $230 for mine over a year ago. I have used it for work and pleasure.
Ipad is just a toy for a while..... but I can see useful applications for it if Apple allows it.
that the $100 bills stay in circulation much longer than smaller bills. they are exchanged much less frequently. I recently sold something fairly expensive and was paid in cash. the $100 bills in the wad were from 3 different generations of the bill! i suspect that in under the radar circles like gun shows and flea markets, the bills tend to be older.
