    Qt contains something like WMF on windows. It is sort of like vector format for storing graphics commands ( actually, it stores GDI/graphics commands .) I don't know if anybody uses this feature on Qt but WMF files on Windows are heavily used..

    Good. They are right. Why waste programmers time porting software to basically, nonexistent user base ( as compared to Windows ) instead of creating new games.

    No it does not have equal potential, not even close.

    Linux lacks just about everything that makes for a good game platform : standard APIs, hardware support ( graphic cards and variety of controllers).
    BeOS on the other hand has it all ... with exception of wide user support.

    Actually, it is really not that hard Linux software that will rutinely crash ( sometimes taking WM with it )

    In fact, I am think it is even easier to find unstable desktop software on Linux than on any other platform..

    Age of Empires is not designed by MS but Ensemble.
    There will not port Age of Kings to Linux ( and not it is not MS that's preventing them but according to Sandyman, he won't waste developers time porting stuff to other OS when there are new games to be made) however, they are willing to license the game ...

    Dude, you don't know what are you talking about.
    IE engine is basically component (active X ) and anybody is free to incorporate its functionality into their programs and many do. ( Eudora etc..)
    That's why so many programs require IE to be installed on the system.
    Netscape could easily create their own browser simply using IE engine with their own look and feel.

    IE was better starting with ver. 3.02. Netscape was "better" when there was nothing else around.
    Basically, Microsoft made better product and won.

    Well, there are in the way... If you running NT then at least there will be much more processor-time for the game as some of the system threads will run on the other one. Not tremendous speedup but still something to consider.

    MS APIs are much better documented then just about anything on the Linux side with possible exception of QT.
