Why unfortunately ? Do you think that knowledge that IRC is really a protocol and they can use telnet instead of typical client, would somehow help Windows IRC users ?
Hehe.. so in way Unix world finally admited defeat and Windows GUI superiority ( yes, that's true - Gnome and KDE are basically Windows desktop clones with a litle twist )
Qt contains something like WMF on windows. It is sort of like vector format for storing graphics commands ( actually, it stores GDI/graphics commands.) I don't know if anybody uses this feature on Qt but WMF files on Windows are heavily used..
Good. They are right. Why waste programmers time porting software to basically, nonexistent user base ( as compared to Windows ) instead of creating new games.
No it does not have equal potential, not even close.
Linux lacks just about everything that makes for a good game platform : standard APIs, hardware support ( graphic cards and variety of controllers). BeOS on the other hand has it all... with exception of wide user support.
Age of Empires is not designed by MS but Ensemble. There will not port Age of Kings to Linux ( and not it is not MS that's preventing them but according to Sandyman, he won't waste developers time porting stuff to other OS when there are new games to be made) however, they are willing to license the game...
Dude, you don't know what are you talking about. IE engine is basically component (active X ) and anybody is free to incorporate its functionality into their programs and many do. ( Eudora etc..) That's why so many programs require IE to be installed on the system. Netscape could easily create their own browser simply using IE engine with their own look and feel.
Begging ? heheh... talk about freedom, thank you, I think market economy solves this problem quite nicely and , you know what, not even your beloved RMS can change the basic laws of economy...
Well, there are in the way... If you running NT then at least there will be much more processor-time for the game as some of the system threads will run on the other one. Not tremendous speedup but still something to consider.
This will be the best game released for Linux yet. Loki's stuff hasn't been that great so far ( not their fault, simply the games they ported weren't that thrilling )
How about requiring you not to earn more than 50 K a year ? Or not to have more than 3 computers at home ? Sound silly ? Yeah... just like your "solution."

If you guys are so kind, you might want to abolish wars too ... It is a murder to shoot somebody after all.
I went there and mailed my representatives, however, indicating that MS should be free to implement anything they want in their products ...
Well, I never used Xt resources and don't know anybody who actually bothered to learn this stuff.
It is simply too complicated.
Hehe.. so in way Unix world finally admited defeat and Windows GUI superiority ( yes, that's true - Gnome and KDE are basically Windows desktop clones with a litle twist )
OSS doesn't innovate ... Give me one example of something innovative that was invented in OSS community.
Do you think Linux is the platform that will decide video streaming wars ?

Sure they would ... Jusk go out and ask some stranger to do something for free !!!

Actually, it is really not that hard Linux software that will rutinely crash ( sometimes taking WM with it )
In fact, I am think it is even easier to find unstable desktop software on Linux than on any other platform..

You are free to develop "standard based" browser if you don't like IE. If Open Source is so superior why can't they do exactly that ?

IE was better starting with ver. 3.02. Netscape was "better" when there was nothing else around.
Basically, Microsoft made better product and won.

What's up with linux.com ? Job's listings are completely scrued up when viewed under IE.

Yeah, it does ... as much as Start Wars gets one to seriously consider "extreterrestial" (sp?) intelligence.
...
Get real. It was SF movie with effects- - not much more
Matrix is no more than technology show.
If one wanted to go deeper on this subject "13 floor" is much much better ( and also more interesting movie on it's own )
Yeah. Very smart. MS is forbidden from bundling IE with Windows but Linux vendors can go ahead and do the very same thing ?
Bullhshit.
MS APIs are much better documented then just about anything on the Linux side with possible exception of QT.
