    This sounds like another case when one will end up pulling his hair out trying to figure out what the hell is going on behind his back.
    It might be good idea but MS better document this behaviour extensively or it will end up as another registry-style mystery.

    But, as I said, it might be good idea after all.

    The problem is that Linux desktop is much more sluggish then the Mac one ( assuming the same hardware )

    It might look cooler but is simply slower.

    I just got myself BeOS and .. well, as a workstation it rocks. I just have a question...
    Is there any way to change windows decoration on the Be desktop ? I don't really like default configuration ( I know I can move them around but what about exctending them to cover whole window ? )

    We are quite far from being able to develop usable popular OS with a language that offers built-in garbage collector ( which right now would probably mean Java)

    M$ stuff leaks no more ( and no less ) than anything else on the market.

    It is not like M$ people are some sort of outcasts
    who never seen or programmed for other operating systems. Some of them even have Unix background ...

    Shit. I have tried Debian couple a months ago and everything was pretty standard except fricking package managment software.
    Who the fuck designed it ??

    I have tried to install one fricking package, spent almost hours messing around with dselect .. and that was it. I won't touch debian for a long time.

    And how is that ? Any specifics ?

    Linux is fucking at least two times slower on the desktop .... The only sane choice right know is acceleratedX ( which is still not as fast as Win GUI but at least accetable)

    That's bullshit. Linux is not much better than NT.
    It is better the way every Unix is better than NT.
    That's a server side.

    But if talk about workstation ( or should I say desktop) side then things are radicaly different.

    Come on, have you ever used desktop apps on Linux ?
    They crash, crash hard , much more often than anything on Windows.

    Yeah, This GTK based junk software is really plentifull these days. Well, I should'n probably say junk as there are people who find some of it usefull but there is definately too much of this.
