A friend of mine was working in the Market Research department for the Commonweath Bank (in Australia), for whatever reason she didn't like it, and she got a new job, in the same area, at Citibank. On the day she arrived at her new job she was told that there had been a restructure and she no longer had a job. They gave her 3 months notice, meaning she got to stay at Citibank and do nothing but look for another job for 3 months and get paid for it, and they put her with an outplacement agency, who helped her get another job. I suppose that you are never immune from things like this but some organisation do it better than others.
That's funny. As far as Linux goes, who cares what the number is as long as it is bigger than the last one. A company that charges for software would use a ver number change like this to charge upgrade fees and get some more press.

You are not allowed to register more than one domain per business in the com.au namespace. Of course this does not stop the common practice of going down to the Dept of Fair Trading and registering another business name to get an extra domain.
I don't think that this would stop the transmission of diseases etc because I really don't think that you could trust those same 2, or 3 if you count the manager, to bother about keeping the machine clean.
Any Australians out there can contact The Australian Direct Marketing Association. The Consumer Help section allows you to be taken off direct marketing lists. I am not sure how well this works as I have only recently done it. I also don't know how responsible their members are.
They are not talking about testing the spectators, so it is ok.
Perhaps it was meant to have a door. But it was Friday afternoon.

Bruce Eckel does this with his "Thinking In Java" book, and possibly some of his other coding books too. Jason

This is not really my area but wouldn't it be 3* the amount of licences that they had sold * the cost of the product. Jason

sourcexchange seems to be thinking in this way. They advertise here on /. trying to get ODD developers.

Here is another article from Discovery. A little more info, but not much.
