    Except managing data is a pain. most people would rather bot to a distributed like netflix, and just have what they want. no downloading, no managing, no worrying about format size depending on the player.

    Its a service.
    I could download everyone there is. I've been able to do that for well over a 2 decades. Since about 2008 it's been trivial to do.

    Yet iTunes sells billions of songs.

    The best solution turns out to be, surprise surprise, convenience.

    Making content HARD to find and view drives mainstream to piracy.
    People want to watch what they want to watch NOW.

    No, people* aren't going to do that.
    A) It's too much data for most people to manage.
    B) People will pay for convenience.

    Doesn't mean Netflix isn't another clueless content provider that can't look at facts, just that DRM is not needed.
    I understand computers, software, hardware, networking ad I find it a pain in the ass to manage digital movies.
    If I could pay 20 bucks a month for a service that had ALL TV and Movies ever produces, I would rather do that.
    Even if it had commercials.

    The IAU is an internationally recognized science group with rules and government recognition. THEY are the people who name bodies in space with a logical process.

    You don't know modern astronomy, do you?

    A) Names are created in such a way that people can find that star again. 'Bob's Star' tells you what, exactly?
    B) most star found aren't observable with the naked eye
    C) Its' a scientific process. As such it need a logic framework whenever possible.
    D) There are machines in space that catalog 100,000s of stars. Who names those?

    People like you are killing science and progress.

    Wrong. You really don't get it, do you?

    Information can not travel then the spread of light as well. As such, it has not been destroyed until you can't see it anymore.

    It's like looking down the road at a car coming towards you and saying it doesn't exist becasue I can only see it's past not what it is exactly at this moment.

    It exists, I can see it, confirm it, make prediction and those observations and predicts can be done by others. SO yes, name the point in the sky with the light so we can call it something when talking about it.

    I see people using them for work all the time. They're quite successful at it.

  21. That may just be because no one has written a good interface to do that.

    Lets say you are a chemistry teacher in a 3rd world country and all you have are tablets.
    How What would yo need to do? What would te interface need to support?

    You are tied to the complexity of the PC. Tied so tightly you can't imagine there could ab another way.

    What if you hit a spot on the screen and just said 'Superscript'?

    Why do you think you can have hotkeys on a PC and not on a tablet?

    16 years is nothing when you can't figure out how to get a doc file. Seriously, go to the library, rewrite your resume. Not rocket science.
    And you can replace 'library' with school, Kinkos, friends house, moms basement.
    Or buy word and a cheap windows box.

    It' prevent the sales people from getting to technical.
    Once that happens, the costumer will ask more technical question he can't answer.

    For example: If you go to buy a car and the sales man talks about horsepower and torque: Ask him what the difference is. then watch him squirm. Afterwards you can drop another 1000 form what you where going to offer.
