    That already happens. How many STEM course are 4 to 6 credits? how many class in those other fields you list?

    STEM is ALREADY more expensive then other fields.
    All the other fields you list can be achieved with s STEM based degree.

    WHAAAA.. WHAAAA I paid a lot so everyone else should WHAAAA.

    You should have needed to pay that much, and neither should any generation.
    You're argument overlooks all the people who couldn't become engineers and scientist due to cost.
    The future will be built on science, technology, engineering, and mathematics. Everything will be based on that, it's critical for global competition.

    No it isn't.
    It gives actually science a venue into public discourse. It teaches scientists how to communicate to non scientists.

    Important, and frankly it should be something as many scientists as possible strive to do.

    It seems bloated because it's slow to respond. It also is difficult to completely shut down; which is unforgivable.

    People confuse 'doing more' with 'short attention spans'.
    These kids maintain separate conversation, on the fly and access information nearly instantly. Kids by their nature are resourceful, and like to do things.

    These same yahoos that complain about kids would be perfectly fine if the kid sat under a tree all summer, doing nothing.

    It's not instant gratification, it's universal knowledge.
    Many traditional means are dead. Kids can do FAR more at the same time today then every before, and that will be their edge.

    yes, and it would be impossible to teach with the methods from 1850 as well. SO? how about adapting?
    Why not text questions? Why don't schools use these tools? we live in an era where anyone can learn anything. We live in an era where kids can learn better and faster. We live in an era where we could teach kids at there own pace, even with 30 in a classroom. It can all be done cheaply and better then traditional means.

    Let set up long term(multi-year) education goals for kids? if they are accomplished at 13, great, 18? great. IN either case they graduate. Teenagers are running corporation, so I'm not exactly worried about the generation. I'm worried that we want to stick to useless ways of teaching just for the sake of tradition.
    Lets not stuff traditional* ways down their throats because 'change is hard'.

    *tradition just means 'not needing to think'.

    Ever listen to a comedy album a bunch of times, pretty soon it's not funny.

    That's also the reason why if you write a script ALWAYS write down WHY something was funny. Becasue it won't be funny to you by the time your done.

    Also, life experiences can be different making a funny joke not funny to someone else UNTIL you exp;lain it. You can still understand the joke and why it would have been funny.

    Did you actually read the post you are replying to?

    150K-250K is pretax, you don't count for inflation. Apply inflation to the number over the next 60 years.

    It hasn't been that high in years.

    That's why when republicans talk about the good ol' day I remind them of the 50-60% tax rate for the top 1& and .1 %, respectively.

    Hmm, the period with our highest taxes saw the greatest improvement in the country. how interesting.

    In that case, I'm all for it.

    3% a year
    150 K a year Before taxes.
    So he could live modest his whole life; which is fine but it's not like he would be epic rich.

    If Facebook is interested, the only reason he should sell that cheaply is if he doesn't control any ogf the technology. If he has patents, then hand Facebook is serious, he should look at 20M, min.
    If he doesn't own anything, then take the 5 mill and run.

    Yeah. Frankly I would have no problem with the ballots not needing a stamp. That would mean the money would come out of a fund, but I bet the rate they could get form the post office would be pretty good.

    More people vote with mail in, so it is better. I'm sorry you had to spend 5 minutes voting in the comfort of your own home, and then drive to a place to drop off you ballot without getting out of your car.

    With the advantage that you can research people running while you are voting.

    It took me about 10 minutes to vote here in Or, and it was that long becasue I want to research some of the local politician a little more. I dropped it off the next time I needed to drive some place.

    You can't let pierce county be a ball and change in progress.

    You can not believe it doesn't have authority over you, but you are wrong. It's not m,ind blowing at all, it's a childish simpleton view and nothing more.

    And being US born is critical for many reasons. Maybe you should do constitutional research an actually educate yourself instead of by into some view of the world that sounds like it comes from some 15 year old trying to sound philosophical.
