"Then when you install the software, you have the paradigm of having to restart the computer to complete software installation and you have to learn how to practice safe computing while budgeting for annual anti-malware software license renewals!"
Every time Ubuntu updates it asks me to reboot the machine, yet in Win7 I can update video card drivers and not have to restart. I'm not sure why you're claiming the opposite is true. Both systems require restarts for certain updates, but these days Win7 has Ubuntu beat in this area, hands down. Also there is no need to budget for annual anti-malware tools, because you can get many free AV suites. MS even offers one now, that tests better than the paid programs.
FF loads in about 1-2 seconds on my machine. I'm calling bullshit on your friend downloading, installing, and getting right back to work in that amount of time. If it's true, your friend has other problems besides Firefox.
War was never declared by congress, for Iraq. It's the byproduct of a Unitary Executive branch, and a weak congress that surrendered their constitutional duty.
Have you actually watched the entire video? They also shoot a van up that pulled up to the scene. Two people carrying a wounded person to the van, with two children sitting in the front seat. None of these people were armed. The only thing those people in the van were trying to do is help some wounded people dying in the street. How can you say they did the right thing here?
Yeah it's actually worse. What they said was "Not my fault you brought your kids to a battle."
Apparently mowing down people standing on a street corner, then hanging around to waste anyone that tries to pick up the wounded, is now a battle.
Wow you're a real tough guy! I'm impressed! I'm so glad that brave heroes like you are protecting me while I sleep from some guys on a street corner in Iraq!
Reading the reactions to this article are quite amusing. On one hand you have the people who like to pretend nuclear bombs are fragile things that can be set off by merely dropping them. Or to take it further: "Look at how irresponsible our evil military was with nukes!!!"
Then you have the other set of folks who seem to be of the mindset of "a little radiation never hurt anything!". Or to take it further: "How dare you question my beloved military, and their completely safe nuclear bombs?!?"
It's good to see there are still a few rational people around who realize there is some middle ground here. The military has a pretty damn good safety record when it comes to handling nuclear weapons, even though they were weapons that never really should have been built in the numbers they were.
That's pretty ironic considering that most Xbox Live games are using peer to peer networking, even though they charge you a subscription for it. If the company creating the content wants it to be free it should be. Paying for Xbox Live should be enough to give you the ability to download free content a developer wants to give out.
Yeah some of us do know the deal, and that's why we don't use Chrome. Some of us actually don't want targeted advertising, or advertising at all for that matter.

The last time I checked, a lot of us nerds like to read science fiction, and many of us are actually fans of Dick.
If you expect to only read things you want to read, start your own damn website!
And of course you're into film, so your opinion carries more weight than someone who is merely into movies.
This should really be cause for alarm. Does China also use the Narus systems that the NSA is using to spy on all Americans?

Do you?
I wonder if this guy realizes how much of a dickhead he sounds like.
Yeah! Man you're even more of tough bad ass than I initially thought! I hope you were pounding your chest like a gorilla when you were done!

Where are the AK 47's and RPGs?

Epic also wanted community made maps to be added to UT3, and MS told them no.
Valve Software wants to release their DLC on Xbox Live for free, like they do on the PC, and MS literally will not let them do it.
When the entire site is nothing but "pranks", it sort of defeats the whole purpose of the day. Cya tomorrow slashdot.
I used to like April Fools day. Now it's just annoying. Every web page on the internet is basically useless for a day.

Who runs a game like Crysis with any other apps running at the same time? That's just dumb...
An article about pictures isn't that interesting when you can't see the pictures...
All we need is a good computer analogy to explain this story!
A troll with mod points...
As for the article though, this is really cool stuff. This machine would have fit right in on the set of Terry Gilliam's Brazil.
Keep it coming! You dumb ass teabaggers are marginalizing the Republican party more and more each day.
Yeah the horror! If you want to make a game, for profit, you have to code it yourself! Sad indeed.
