You think Slashdot packaging adware on a GPL application they don't own or haven't contributed to isn't probably the most important story Slashdot readers would like to know about?
Anonymous Coward #49797227, I've been around here a long time. You must be new and enjoy your iPhone's clean interface and easy access to Plants Vs Zombies, but some of us here give a damn about software freedom.
He'll sell the health and education of America. Thought the healthcare system was too commercial? Just wait. He'll destroy social institutions because be thinks people out of the goodness of their hearts will help other people, when people will just go on being greedy. A Ron Paul vote is a corporate vote, even if the corporations don't realize it.
Mind you! I love his libertarian policies, some of them. And foreign policy. I think he's the best republican candidate.
Wow yeah so I double checked the term. You're totally right.
What a misleading word! I just see it everywhere and take it from what it looks like it means. It looks like it means someone coming in and attacking... and i'm sure the media knows that not everyone knows what it means and assume when they see words like that.
Anyway, i'll back off and continue to lurk again:P
Can we like, ALL please stop using the word "insurgent" to discribe the fighting going on in Afghanistan and Iraq? These people arn't insurgents. WE are!
Can you have an indigenous insurgent?
Slashdot editors, I expect more clear thinking than this!
It simply shouldn't be a crime to record something. Period!!
It would be a crime also if the person *remembered* what they saw and wrote down word for word the script in the movie, no? This is also unreasonable. People are telling you what you can and cannot do or say.
Law enforcement shouldn't be involved. Making it a criminal offence to record the events transpiring around you is wrong, don't you agree? When we're not allowed to remember what goes on, or be allowed to jot it down, video tape it, or otherwise... Well. Do I need to elaborate?
It's not a secret if you tell someone. People can tell you what they would like you to do with something you own, but should they be able to use big guns to make sure you do?
to clarify, i didn't start fractions in 8th grade. i stopped learning them there, and that's when i was supposed to have mastered them and not have had to pay any more attention to learning them. it's just a division symbol by then. after you learn the theory.
and in reply to the other replies (and thanks for commenting) i switched schools in 3rd grade, in my first school i was just starting cursive and multipication in 3rd grade. very introductory... i think i was on like "g" or "h" when i moved. when i arrived at my new school they were doing long division, and had done multipication in 2nd grade.
man. i was doing plays and getting pats on the head for my addition in 2nd:P
anyway, just to clarify. i'm a pretty good speller:)
Ohhh. See I thought you said you got rid of Windows. You still have Windows.
Okay, but does that application Windows 7 was having troubles with work on your Linux install? :P
Am I the only person who uses BTRFS?
Are we going to be giving Microsoft 2 years to change their minds? :)
Ubuntu is way ahead of the curve.

When will Apple catch up?
Thanks Slashdot! I've been using top like a chump. This is great!

It's currently on the firehose. Vote it up!
I'm glad someone here sees the outrage. Got a lot of AC's telling me I'm whining.
I don't know, I've been on this website for a long long time, packaging and slinging adware is BAD NEWS folks.
...talking about is this!!!

SLASHDOT. What the hell is your problem?
... before you destroy all the evidence doing what the other posters suggested, you should be taking care of your elderly father and CALL THE POLICE.
LESS QQ. MORE PEW PEW.
To be fair, yes. Unsigned drivers will stop you from playing protected content, but you can sign these drivers yourself and then install them.
I'm pretty sure, at least. I don't have any protected content to test this out on. Any thoughts?
No. Windows vista does not turn off aero if you install unsigned drivers.
If you're not using WDDM video drivers, you cannot run aero.
The one major issue with thi... RIM is a foreign company.
Well golly! I wonder what other things this man depends on in his daily life are made by foreign companies....
EVERYTHING? How about you? Have you been compromised?
To conservative.

But he's pro-life. Big show stopper.

Doesn't this go along the lines of mircosoft pulling support for mac ports of their popular software such as office?
So 3 os's, at least, so BSD, Linux and OSX have more vulnerabilities that one single operating system?
Do the math.
BS.
i know you're trolling, but a funny story (or i think it is) comes from my unwillingness to capitalize "I".
Spelling bee in 4th grade... spell Canada.
"canada" sit down.
"canada" sit down.
whole class loses. we're all astonished because we've obviously spelled it right.
