But it's not exactly what the poster asks for. I'm also using smoothwall and like it, but AFAIK one needs to install it on a HD, no way it can be run directly from the CD.
Of course jabber servers communicate with each others. But they also communicate with the other IM system, as soon as transports for the given IM system are installed on the server you will be connected to. See this list of available servers and the transport they support.
It's not going to help it, see its post: I've tried UDF, but the versions aren't compatible (Linux likes 2+, and OSX only goes to 1.5). Not to mention, Mac OS doesn't seem to like a whole block device formatted as UDF (mmm... kernel panic).
It's applicable for all platform, not only Linux, and for both the JRE and the JDK. This point is also very interesting:

So what? If you feel like being gay, you don't have to feel guilty about it, it's your right. If the/. crowd helped you open your eyes, you should be thankfull after all.
My dayghter (3 years and a half) says: - what did he do with the other man, dad? - you will know that later! - dad, does that means he is in love? - euh, perhaps - can I do that with him?
If you can't stand being gay, try at least to be patient (20 years are not so long), there's someone waiting for you.
Yes, but it doesn't solve the issue with the ISA cards. Using old boxes to, for instance, build a firewall more often means having to mess with IRQ and IO assigned to given ISA cards. What is the easiest way to find out the proper settings. Once again, the solution is for me to install a windoze something and write down the settings on a piece of paper. But what a waste of time. Any nicer solution?
Yep, you got it, thanks again (too bad I don't have moderation points left).
Now, let's go a little bit further. On old computers, the usual problem I have is to find the IRQ and IO of ISA cards. Sometimes I first install windoze just to have them. Any clue?
Thanks a lot. Never heard about that tool before but I already like it.
But does someone knows about generic tools that could perform diagnostics on the other basic parts of a computer: the motherboard and the CPU. It could for instance be a linux boot disk tailored to report every issues found (and why not also the harware configuration: chipset, IRQ,...).
Of course they didn't critise Open source software or the BSD-style licence Of course they don't like the GPL. Of course they prefer, as usual, steal other people ideas, code and make it proprietary and non-compliant. Of course they like their monopoly and want to keep it.
... is corporate bullshit, suit talk. "We believe that..." blah blah blah. Symantec just believes in money, money and money. Who can trust SecurityFocus anymore, except Symantec share holders? And the really scarry part is there's for the moment no other independant, serious or accurate alternative. Bad day.
... something (a langage, a product, a technology, whatever since you don't care) that companies are looking for. There are plenty of IT managers that are waiting for you, but you have to give them what they want.

I am a smoker and I can tell you, you don't have to ask anymore for smoking or no smoking. They are _all_ no smoking.
What about SOAP, XML-RPC?
That's indeed a good question:
- JEP-0009: Transporting XML-RPC over Jabber
- JEP-0072: SOAP Over Jabber
Even when "This work is licensed under a Creative Commons License"?

But I still think they did it on purpose, to spread the open source philosophy in an unknown manner, on a level never reached before.
apache and tomcat are open source, that's it?
The main objectives of DotGNU are to build a webservices platform and a Virtual Identities system.
