Regarding window manager, I use wmii that will arrange the windows efficiently, but only works on X11. I have to use Windows at work, so I use an GridMove, an autohotkey script that does something similar and works on on dualscreen.
Well, from where I am sitting, I don't think they are going to using existing buildings. You could see trucks hauling dirt off 101 entrance, and it's not just for the freeway renovation. I wonder if they are going to open-up their cafeteria to the rest of Ames or are they going to fenced the others out?
Or when the US came to the aid of South Korea when it was invaded by Communist armies?
And on the same coin, when the Chinese "volunteer army" came to the aid of the North Korean. The Chinese had issued warnings that they would react if the US encroached on the frontier at the Yalu River. Indeed fresh from memories of Hiroshima, MacArthur mentioned that atomic weapons might be used in the Korean War sounds like bullying to me.
Most of the numerical stuff I write is in Fortran90, and a lot of the older code you find is also in Fortran. Sometime C and Matlab comes in handy for specific task. Depending on what you do, I would say C and Fortran would be your best bet.
I'll go buy some books from their bricks-and-mortor stores and probably get a cup of coffee with it.

It's all a PR game. Sun did the same earlier, so why not IBM.
Look at this comment back a few months ago, I think IBM has better a argument anyways.
