This is really just another nice bedtime story, isn't it? Sure scientists can speculate about this sort of thing, but the possible scenarios are only limited by the researchers' imaginations. There is no way of knowing whether this sort of tale is really what happened. The only thing that can happen here is that someone will come up with a reason why it could not have happened this way. If that doesn't happen all we have is a nice story that nobody has debunked yet.
The problem is that cloned cow would still have to grow into an adult cow in order for the steak to be cut out of it. You'd just have herds of cloned cattle instead of naturally born cattle. How does this make a difference (not that I have any problem with steak)?
You don't even have to ask that question, this isn't even one of those interesting cases or gray areas. What you're planning to do is wrong--
He's absolutely right. People in positions of power cannot compromise on ethics; not even a little bit. Do what's right and let the chips fall where they may.

I didn't expect Wizard Howl to show up on Slashdot. I loved that book (although it's a strange one). I e-mailed the link home as soon as I saw the article (my wife'll get a kick out if that).
Of course, Howl's castle allowed him to open a door and enter different places and times where he lived separate lives (or was known there as a different character). I guess he's a bit like Dr. Who.
Exactly what I was thinking ;-)
You should also consider GoOO http://go-oo.org/ which is an improved version of OpenOffice.

Not likely. RTF is really just text with extra formatting tags. They aren't binary files like Word documents.
If you had read the article you would know that a specially crafted file with a Wordpad-associated extension is required. Notepad is next ;-)

it uses (surprise) H.323 protocol, and not all firewalls like it
http://openh323.sourceforge.net/
You could also use ssh to create a tunnel for the H.323 data. The firewall wouldn't mind that too much ;-)
