This is where the Federal Government actually has the authority per the Constitution to step in and regulate interstate commerce. Congress needs to dictate ONE tax rate for all Internet purchases.
You aren't going to trample the sovereignty of my state because your business is too lazy to implement a lookup table to comply with my laws. That's bullshit.
Who's the one doing the screwing here? Your currency needs to lose a lot of value to equalize things, but none of you are prepared to face the consequences. You're just riding on the fact that it's the world's reserve currency, but eventually the bubble will pop...
Even more proof the world is screwing the USA. The fact is, if free trade actually worked, the dollar would have gradually declined and the markets would have done their job. Instead we have a bunch of folks over in Japan, South Korea and China playing mercantile games and hoarding dollars to prop up the currency, so they can f--- us some more.
Let the bubble pop! Then everyone will see what a bullshit deal free trade is, the USA can go back to being isolationist, and let the world engulf itself in regional wars.
I know you think that is a bad thing, but frankly, US consumerism supporting US manufacturing isn't exactly a bad thing.
I'm totally against free trade. It's a failure and a myth. I was in favor of it strongly. We tried it. It didn't accomplish its stated goals, so its time to move on.
IF they could have, they would have. Obama's ratings in Europe were in the 90% range, at the same time he was in Ohio talking about how he was going to undo free trade. Says a lot about how informed Europeans -really- are.
Bush may not have been the style of guy that Europe prefers, but economically, his commitment to free trade made it possible for many European economies to be export driven. Obama will begin the unwinding of that.
This is just more bullshit for the U.S. government to work around trade agreements they've signed in the past.
I warned Europeans on this board that protectionism was coming with a Northern Democrat sweep... but oh no, Obama was the man. Bet you'll miss Bush when you can't sell a bucket of screws to the USA. I'm really crying for you...
I'm by no means an Obama fan, but it's about time we had an administration that did something about it. Have you looked at the US trade deficit lately? The whole world is screwing the USA and has been for decades.
Free trade is just like socialism.. one of those ideas that seems good on paper but screws up in practice. Adam Smith, Karl Marx, you are both as wrong as you are dead!
If somebody was smuggling a bunch of documents onto airplane describing how to blow it up, wouldn't you, as an employee whose job it is to understand how people might blow up airplanes, want to have a look?
Hey, let's go and have a bunch of papers about blowing up airplanes and have them past people paid to guard them. The dude was retarded. I don't blame the guards for detaining him.
(And, as far as I know, the UK aren't particularly keen to hurt MS *at all* - our EU-membership is, was and always has been more of a "for-show" item than anything else)
The UK belongs in NAFTA. Even though the UK is geographically closer to the Continental Europe, you are a lot closer in ideals and values to the United States and Canada than you are to Germany or France.
Please, please, hurry it up, governments, if this is the case. My little Linux install CD is desperate to be used until it's worn out. Hell, stick a percent on my tax for this year if you get a move on.
See, this is why I like you. You are completely honest about your motives, without any of the fluffery that you have to cut through. I can deal with THAT!
(Oh, BTW: I love the way you manage to turn it into not just a pro-MS thing, but also lob a conspiracy theory in to boot. It's nothing short of genius.)
Thank you! Here I felt my conspiracy skills were sliding as I didn't get bigfoot in there. Actually, my conspiracy backtext was a "European protectionism" thing.
Many people who call themselves "conservative" are merely angry.
I think that the angry conservative label is another liberal attack. It's always conservatives that are supposedly angry but liberals are way more hysterical. I'd bet you find way more rage over at DailyKos than you would on the Rush Limbaugh show.
This is how governments do things. They make it impossible for a private sector company to offer a good at a reasonable price through a combination of regulatory measures and taxes, and then, they say that the market has failed, and the government moves in, generally delivering a lesser product at a higher price to the taxpayer.
WSJ bad... comment links to an extremely important article in Rolling Stone magazine.
could be better translated as... I am a left wing guy trashing the WSJ with my own smear campaign and then going off topic to promote my own agenda by inviting readers to check out another smear campaign conducted this time by Rolling Stone.
In contrast, would you say the Republicans were at all concerned about whether our environment would be livable not only today, but in the future, as well? Did they consider long-term sustainable growth over short-term profit? Even if it meant less money for their corporate buddies?
I would say that I would not believe the left was genuinely concerned about the future when they are pro-abortion, dislike marriage, family and children and a passing of cultural values. Kinda hard to have a future when you keep kicking out all the legs of what makes a stable society.
I disagree with all sorts of things the government does; can I have my money back too? I'm not a big fan of the military; if you want to develop new fighter jets, use someone else's money please
Either way, it's truly gobsmacking that NASA spent countless billions (in *1960s* money) on the moon mission and yet were so damn careless with their source data
The mission was a publicity stunt. The data didn't matter to them as much. Send a few guys there, bring back some moon rocks, keep a few pictures around... all done. Plus, you have to keep in mind that many at NASA thought we would have a lot more people on the moon now than we do...
In fact, "abort" would have been the "right" decision in my opinion based on what was known at the time.
Unless you are Neil Armstrong. There is a reason he was picked to go on that mission. He starts out as a combat jet pilot over Korea, brings back a totally shot up bird.
After taking a bit of time to get some additional education, he winds up as a test pilot... flying all sorts of exotic craft. He makes his way into NASA, and there, he makes a quick decision that saves a tumbling Gemini spacecraft. Then, he's ejecting from wildly unstable lunar lander proxy craft.
Pretty much his whole career, Armstrong flew a bunch of crazy aircraft in a bunch of dangerous situations and proved himself as having a knack for making the right decisions, and quickly, because of crunch time.
He gambled that the computer was still returning...excessive risk
I think its fair to say that with his track record, he didn't take excessive risk -for him-. He was the best flyer NASA had, and he was doing his job.
If you wanted to become a NAZI, you could basically blow away everyone who isn't white. That would knock the earth's population down to around a billion, maybe less. Since white europeans aren't even breeding - (guess german women should shave after all), we would be down to around 800 million or even 500 million humans on earth.
When it all boils down to it, conservatives really screwed us up. If they would have let Hitler finish the job in Eurasia and Africa, there would be no global warming.
The Democrats have made up their mind. The laws will be passed.
No matter what the rest of the world does, they are going to follow this religion and pretty much wreck everyone's standard of living to make themselves feel good about their earth worship. Things will eventually change when the whole truth comes out. The public is made aware of how much of an economic disaster this is. Some day the whole truth will come out, that we won't know if this works for another 400 years.
The entire US economy is about to be ruined. Hopefully these green people won't mind plowing fields themselves, because that's where we are headed.
Teaching people that they richer when they have less energy. What a colossal lie. What a treason. What a waste.
Fancy that. After all these years of hearing about surface features that were "obviously" formed by water, we find that dry old sand can do the same thing, pushed along by the winds over the millenia.
Poor Mars, our little friend was never wet. It was always a desert, and there is no life.
They already do, considering that they're consuming approximately 0% of the state's resources.
So I guess Amazon just drops everything off at the state's border?
Who's the one doing the screwing here? Your currency needs to lose a lot of value to equalize things, but none of you are prepared to face the consequences. You're just riding on the fact that it's the world's reserve currency, but eventually the bubble will pop...

Yep - damn those Europeans for voting Obama in.
IF they could have, they would have. Obama's ratings in Europe were in the 90% range, at the same time he was in Ohio talking about how he was going to undo free trade. Says a lot about how informed Europeans -really- are.

Fuck you microsoft and other motherfucking disable-fucking-copy-paste-if-licence-expires Office counterparts, THAT is anti-competitive, not google
I never thought of that... that's an awesome idea.
This is pretty true. Google destroyed altavista pretty quickly when altavista was the "cool" search engine out there.
If somebody was smuggling a bunch of documents onto airplane describing how to blow it up, wouldn't you, as an employee whose job it is to understand how people might blow up airplanes, want to have a look?
The guy was a moron. He paid a price of inconvenience. He wasn't harmed and he was on his way.
Christ all mighty. Americans have no idea what persecution really is... so they have to invent it.
What a bunch of pussies.
Hey, let's go and have a bunch of papers about blowing up airplanes and have them past people paid to guard them. The dude was retarded. I don't blame the guards for detaining him.

The US dollar is cheap, and getting cheaper. Therefor, Windows over in Europe ought to be cheaper than it would have been, not more expensive.

The articles are pure FUD, and the summary is worse.
Thanks for clearing it up... on Airbus, the computers help the pilot, unless the plane is crashing...

I think the moment you start writing reviews of your doctor friends, Facebook explodes into a giant flamewar.
