Taking your specific situation and applying it to my generalized point has no merit. Obviously even with this new cell phone technology, not every cell phone carrier will adopt it. And, your option to buy or not buy is always there. Now if you were a company, and your area had bad access you could take my point to it's literal meaning and put up the money to buy fibre to your block, and then sell the service to those in your area that want it. This, would be more the point I was trying to make, individual intiatives like this is what will drive technology and accessability.
When I said everyone should have a cell phone in this day and age... I don't mean we need more useless ninnies yacking it up on the subway, I meant that for emergency use, for women to have for security etc... This is a good thing. Now you don't have to scrimp on piece of mind because of the cost of a cell phone and it's associated service.
Ahh.. What part of this idea is dumb? This sounds like an awesome marketing tool, and a good way for everyone to carry a free (or heavily discounted) cell phone. In this day and age everyone should have a cell phone, and this will promote that greatly.
Accept it, this is going to be how technology advances in the future - through corporate initiatives... not government etc. Remember on the movie 'star-ship troopers' where all the ships and such in space all had corporate logos on them? Well that is good fortelling of the future. Is it a bad thing? - certainly not. Technology will advance at a far greater rate through private funding and corporate initiative. In this manner we all have a choice when it comes to what service to use, and who to get it from.
Yeah, as soon as they stopped filming it in my backyard and moved it to the states, I guess the production got so expensive that they couldn't afford to keep the good writers on...
Do you have a url for MetRx bars? I'm really looking at simplifying my diet.. these dilbert things would rock, but the prepartion and size is a problem.. I saw once 'bachelor chow' on the show futurama.. it was a joke at that point.. but if i was working at Purina right now i'd be fixing up the marketing for that.. think about it.. for someone that wants to eat healthy, but can't afford to take the time to make a healthy meal, something that provides all the required nutrients woul be great.. you could even have a feed indicator on the side similar to dog food - "if your dog is obese, feed half a cup 3 times a day, if your dog is sligthly overweight, feed 3/4 cup 3 times a day, if your dog is normal or average maintenace weight, 1 cup 3 times a day"..
Okay screw purina.. who's in this with me? any venture capatilists out there?
I wouldn't exactly call them intel's prison bitch when they are going against intels wishes by creating a dual socket 370 mobo in the first place.. granted a k7 board would be nice from them..
Just where are you getting your facts from? My athlon smokes my p3 of the same clock speed.. okay.. well maybe not SMOKES but it is noticeably faster..
Yeah finally someone has the balls to speak out on this spelling issue! - i think we should give him a big ass reward for finally bringing this MAJOR issue to the fore front.. had he not pointed out those errors It would have been the end of the godamn world.. i mean.. who gives a shit about what the message is trying to say.. because it all amounts to nothing if there are spelling errors.. GET A FUCKING LIFE HIPPY
"it doesn't affect you man" - can you say pot head?
Just ask my brother who now has an IQ of 2 because his brain is so fried from smoking pot.. everytime i hear that 'it doesn't affect you' i have to laugh..
Yes, I am a corporate spy working for a huge corporation. We are currently running a prototype storage cube that is fully functionaly. We have not yet been able to reduce the size to the dimensions that have been suggested in all the hype (1cm x 1cm x 1cm) but so far we have it down to 1m x 1m x 1m but not all of the storage area can be used in the cube, because we had to cut breathing holes for the little mexican boy that points the flashlight at all the data.. also it was hard to transfer the information from the cube to where it was needed (we couldn't hear him say what the data was without the holes). Our next milestone is to have a trained chimpanzee hold the flashlight (optical data pickup as we like to call it) - with this advance we hope to compact the box to as little as 30cm cubed.
When you enjoy audio and video as a form of entertainment enough to spend the big dollars on equipment, alot of effort goes into making sure that the equipments performance justifies it's cost. Light dimmers don't cause problems only when they are in use. Light dimmers are the biggest source of ground loop faults in a home these days...
I live in the downstairs portion of a large house, when the upstairs tenants decided to move i took the opportunity to redo all the wiring upstairs before the new tenants moved in.. effectively replacing all the dimmers and such with standard light switches, or with isolated dimmer switches.. the difference is night and day.. my Cable tv signal is 100% better and the sound pumping out of my receiver is noticeably better.
for those of you that are interested, the second largest source of grounding problems is with the incoming tv cable.. alot of times the outside conductor is not grounded in the same place as the house ground is grounded at, and as a result you have different grounding values.. - this throws off everything in your system if you have different components connected to each other.
Sweet.. i'm packing my bags.. hawaii here i come..
ungh unnnnnnnnnnnnnngh... unngggggggghhhh
hmm.. apparently straining like your taking a dump doesn't make things go faster.. ...Course.. that's not going to stop me.. unnnngh unnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnngh UUUNNNNNNNNNGH
Progressive scan DVD (currently only being put to market by panasonic - although it was first attempted by toshiba way back in 98) is a format that produces a picture resolution of 480 scan lines (non interlaced, as current dvd's are) - you will need a digital tv to take advantage of it. (i believe upscales it to 1080 lines to make it compatible with digital tv's.)
More information can be found on one of the million hometheatre sites on the net, or at Panasonic Themselves.
Yeah.. i'll buy it on vhs the very next time i run out to buy my latest selection of cassette tapes and 8-track..
Christ.. even dvd as a standard has been surpassed.. PS-DVD (progressive scan DVD) is already out and way better then standard dvd.. and they want me to buy a VHS tape? blah!
In the northwest (where nirvana is from), and close to it in canada where i live, there is a deoderant stick called 'teen spirit' the real one is called 'spirit' but they have a version of it specifically for teens.. I always assumed that this was what Kurt cobain was referring to in the song 'smells like teen spirit' - am i wrong? The music video depicts the band in a girls school basketball game or something.. and the sweat from the girls and such.. i figured that he was speaking about they smell of girls deoderant.. so if you want to know what teen spirit smells like.. pick up a stick!
It look spretty much like Novell is just stating simple truth, and Microsoft did spread alot of lies and BS about their product, they have the right to defend themselves and point out where Microsoft made mistakes with regards to their product
I just went to install microsoft office this morning from a cd-r that i burnt last year.. can only read from some of the files now, although they all appear to be on the disk.. i guess the table of contents is fine.. but the rest of the disk is hooped.. can only read from 50% of the files.. as an experiment i'll see how many i can read from in a month.. the disk is in perfect condition, KAO 'long life' - burnt with an HP burner..

"Prefect" sounds too close to "perfect" -- no way intel holds themself to THAT standard.
Actually, they couldn't use "Prefect" because it's to close to the standard they DO hold - "Defect".
