You have to remember that if you were to do something similar to that, the memory would only run as fast as the PCI bus, which is usually limited to 33MHz... Now with that being said, if you were running a 33MHz bus for some memory, you would be running that bus for all memory. Hence, you would have a Pentium 100, at best, once again.
Aren't we trying to achieve best speed and performance in this world? I mean, after all, RAM is what's making computers go faster now.
Of course if a gig of ram was needed, i could help out. My motherboard maxes out at 4 gigs though.:(
sitting at work... i can smell the aroma.. i think i'd rather.... be in a coma. (this sucks.. why can't i download like this at home?) I think movie trailers like this were designed for VDSL, not for ADSL users. Now why do they distribute files of this magnitude for people with dialup still rules the world? I have no idea. I just want the gigabit connection I have at work... in my home.. ohh one day.
First of all, where did DNS come from? Unix. Secondly, what did RealNames depend on? Windows. Thirdly, who caused all of the DNS problems today? Microsoft.
Why are all the problems to be blamed on Microsoft? Because they don't know how to port Unix software.
Why is it that the *nix version always works better than the Win32 version? Because *nix programmers actually know how to port stuff.
Nuff said.
and mesquite isn't bad, eh?

I don't know how other people feel, and I am definitely not racist, but in Mesquite, TX and one city very close to it (Balch Springs) there is a lot of stuff going on with the police and the people. The city has a large african american population and a large indian (east indian) population. It is not a bad city, don't get me wrong, but I would stay away from Balch Springs (My car got stolen from there). Also, I understand that the officer that worked with me to get the car recovered lives in Mesquite and some people tried to break in to his car. If you are staying with friends in that area, or staying in a Hotel close to it, watch out. There might be somebody lurking behind the bushes. Also, there aren't many hotels in the area that I am aware of, and traffic is awful. It is more of what is called East Dallas. North Dallas is the "fancy" part of Dallas, then South Dallas is the ghetto. SouthEast Dallas (Balch Springs) is almost as bad as South Dallas, except it's not packed with a high mexican population and drug dealers on every corner. I would say, also, that for food, there is an excellent selection in Mesquite. There is a CompUSA store there, a Best Buy, and a mall (for the girls, of course). There is a lake down IH30 (Lake Ray Hubbard) that has several parks (for picnics), and all kinds of goodies. I would recommend, though, possibly getting reservations for a hotel in Plano, Richardson, or Addison. Plano is the farthest from Mesquite, and Richardson, I would say, is the closest. Addison has the Galleria, which is very expensive to stay at from what I hear, but they have a parking garage and all.
In all seriousness, one of the best ISPs I have found, but it is local to the Dallas, Texas area is Directlink.net. They offer everything including subnets in 8, 16, 32, 64, 128, or even an entire class C if you need it. They will also give you DNS (Reverse) delegation if you need it on any of these. I have a residential package at 768k/128k (down/up), 8-ip subnet, delegation, and I am running a web server that offers "free" webhosting services and email services off it. One day when I called technical support they didn't complain when I told them what I was doing either. If you live in Dallas and you can get a DSL line through GTE or Southwestern Bell, directlink.net will probably be your best choice =)

Why didn't they put a toilet in it too? That's what every nerd needs... maybe a portable refrigerator too. :-/
