If you want to go one step further, go to your school's Mechanical Engineering department and get their graduate level books. Mechanical engineering is applied physics. The University of Illinois also had a Theoretical and Applied Mechanics department that was similar to mechanical engineering but emphasized the math more heavily. It was recently merged with the mechanical engineering department.
