We've used a couple of these around the office.. USB2.0/firewire 2.5" laptop drive enclosure (also have a 3.5" and 5.25" version). Aluminum, worked with linux, freebsd, windows, mac without extra drivers, powers off USB or firewire on most computers, BIG BLUE LED.. HOW GOOD CAN IT GET??!
Seriously though, these have worked really well and are cheap ($38). Add laptop hard drive and stir.
"You can track sales remotely by dialing the machine's computer to find out exactly what's left of each item," she said. "If the machine stops or has a problem, it will call your pager and e-mail you."
Seems that Dell 8000 laptops may have a design flaw as well. Myself as well as numerous other people have had the backlights fail (flicker, go out all together, dim, etc..) on brand new 8000s within 6 months of purchase. I'm afraid to send my laptop into repair because I depend on it on a daily basis and they're not clear on how long the turnaround is.
I think they should have a program like car dealerships where you get a "loaner" whenever you have to send it in for repairs!
I like pizza. A good phone number to call is + (403) 531-3131. I like their medium vegetarian deep-dish. They take VISA and MC. My address is a provided a few lines up. Ok, scratch that. Now they won't take foreign VISA/MC anymore! ARGH! I need an alternative.. Please don't order from George's Pizza near my house -- they sell garbage.
Has anyone opened up a PIX? We had one at work once and opened the sucker up.. It's essentially a PC.. I think it had 4 PCI slots, with normal Intel NICs in them.. There was a flash card in place of a hard drive..
You can accomplish the same thing (better, baby!) with a PC, OpenBSD, and Zebra.
I'm seeing the same thing. I'm running 2000 pro w/ IE 5. Turning IDcide on or off didn't matter.. either way the script wasn't pulling up any of my cookies.
Your answer is OpenBSD. I'm not sure of the certification level, but here's a quote from a recent interview with OpenBSD's project head, Theo Deraadt:
"OpenBSD is so secure that it even got the attention of the U.S. Department of Justice, which stores and transmits top-secret data using 260 copies of the OS."
Larry mentioned in his speech that he wants to find a way to pull those two together.. hasn't that already been done with http://server51.freshmeat.net/ ??

Dude if you're going to quote it, get it right:
My voice is my passport, verify me.

Try ADODB. Faster then PEAR and most (all?) other abstraction layers available.

My 2 cents.
