    Typically only people in jobs they really arent qualified for work long hours. There are some exceptions, overtime, bonus pay or really really enjoying the job. I've found I get more done in 8 hours than most of the 60 hour weekers do in two of their 12 hour days.

    And IT charge back. Run your IT department as a profit center. Make sure other projects are paying you for your services even if only on paper. If they want to cut how much they pay, you cut how much you service.

    The direct path from server admin is systems engineer and architect. Get out of the ticket queue and into the big project planning.

    Man, do i fell sorry for you. While if I wont the big lottery I would likely quit, I still enjoy going to my job every day. I have worked to be the best at what I do and have been rewarded pretty well for it. If you're not then either you are not the best, or what you chose to do isn't very difficult.

    It's quite the opposite of the DNF issue. DNF was promised for over a decade, then delivered a petered out version. Wayland was release as a useless version that has petered for almost a decade.

    Actually Wayland is just a fix to a non-issue. There was a perceived issue quite some time ago, but that was fixed. Wayland is little more than a "Going out of Business" sign on a furniture store. There must be good deals in there!!! Wayland is not X and I've heard that this thing I use daily that works near perfectly is horrible so Wayland must be good.

    you seem to have confused conservative with Republican, it's a common mistake similar with the confusion of conservative with religious nutjob. While all three are distinctly different ideologues with little real overlap. Although often they'd like you to think they do.

    Funny, I'm one of those that feel most of the things government does is wrong. This isn't actually one of those things. Not only was no body killed, but the amount stolen from the people at gun point was tiny compared to the typical egregious problem items.

Sure makes rape and spousal abuse seem like a distant fantasy of medieval times and not a current problem.

    Sure as long as your taking it doesn't deny me from still having it. If you want to build a house that looks exactly like mine and fill it with items exactly like the ones I have that's completely up to you. There is a difference between theft and copying. Although you seem to have taken the MAFIAA propaganda of otherwise to heart.

    I pay for most of those services and still typically download from Piratebay it has just become so much more convenient and it's easier to find the things you want. One Stop Shopping!!

    exactly. What would you pay for a purely legitimate pirate bay? If they came up with some agreement and I could just start downloading as much as I want with the exact same service the pb community provides right now I'd drop $50-75 a month and drop cable. I'm one of the few that wish Netflix would charge me more so they could get more and more recent content. If they could have nearly all day 1 release movies and shows, again I'd be willing to pay 3-4x what Netflix costs me now. I pay for hulu and almost never watch it. I pay for Netflix and only watch a few things. Pirate Bay is just so much more convenient even than either.

    Interestingly, when my father past we found a journal, or at least a life review, that he had been writing. His writing was very detailed and not some kind of self promoting but very factual in both the good and bad of his life. I've felt the need to do a similar review, with the idea of it not being read until after I am gone and I would like to have an accurate account of my life, warts and all.
