    It reduces nitrogen creation by bringing the cylinder temperature down. It takes power away from the engine not power it. That's why there's an EGR controller that turns it off when you need the power.

    I also remember reading in the brief overview of fairtax that basic necessities like food water and basic housing would not have a sales tax applied, so poor people just trying to make ends meet would pay no tax at all.

    which is probably fine, but if I want to by a low latency gaming optimized link from my ISP I'd like that ability. Or perhaps a high thoughput link to youtube is what I'd like and am willing to pay for. Why should blizzard, if they wished to open an ISP for BattleNet be required to provide equal service to all when I was really just buying a dedicated WoW link?

    I never got too into it because it was obviously not going to happen, but just from what I remember of this quote:

    "Want to hear the biggest lie the Fair Tax people spew? "It will do away with the IRS." Someone has to be in charge of collecting and processing the "Fair Tax", and even if it isn't CALLED the IRS it will still have the same function. It will be a massive federal agency tasked with tracking down every ten year old who spends a buck on a piece of candy to make sure the taxes are paid."

    I have to say that your other "facts" should be called into question. Moving the tax collection from the 300,000,000 individuals to the few hundred thousand point of sale places would cut the IRS down to 1/1000th of it's current requirement, and they'd be collecting from someone much better at keeping track of finances (a business) though a mechanism they already understand, sales tax, than the vast majority of current income tax payers.

    And here we see why we'll never have a simplified tax code. Or any kind of reform in this area. The military/industrial (IRS/Tax preparers) complex has grown out of control.

    The internet may be interstate, but my deal with my service provider is entirely within, not just my state, but my city.

    Education is only important to things you don't like. If you are truly interested in a field you'll learn these things on your own; often better than can be taught. Otherwise you are just forcing an education due to it feeling required.

    Hell, the packaging and bandwidth is more than most, and they also do contribute a fairly large amount of code and infrastructure.

    I usually explain it by saying your games and your streaming movies will get the same priority even though they could be optimized for latency or transfer rate respectively to make for a better experience.

    If that DRM-"protected" DVD that you own was locked to your DVD player, then fair use would allow that friend you loaned it to to also be able to view it on his DVD player.

    There has been no "free market" in ISPs as they have ridden on the backs of government sanctioned telco and cable monopolies. The solution to government created problems is not more government.
