Actually there was a way to construct an earth centered model which was called the Tychonic Model. (IE Planets go around the sun, the sun and moon go around the earth.) It was my understanding only the Catholic church used it. Of course once you have Newtonian mechanics you have to give up the idea the earth doesn't move.(But they didn't have them at the time.)

(For what it's worth what I said was basically "Even though the plans were to get rid of our current system that we had been using for the past 10 years in the next year or 2 don't be surprised if that happens. I bet if you asked alot of cobol guys in the 60's and 70's how long do you think your code will get used they wouldn't have said 30 to 40 years." (You might have to leave a few lines of pixels off the bottom and right if the screen wasn't an even multiple but if the pixels where extremely small this wouldn't be a problem.) Wouldn't that make the math very quick and easy? (IE if all you had to do is convert your square pixel an resolution X to say a 5X5 square made out of smaller pixels.)

Basically you're making a pumpable battery out of air. On top of that after you're done "discharging" your battery it turns back into air. Never mind the fact that if you could create this the infrastructure to use it is already here. (Let me guess, either they can't scale it up or it's no where near efficient enough.) Actually come to think of it if you could do that you could use it to solve issues with wind farms and solar power. (IE when the sun is out and the wind is blowing store the extra energy as gasoline in huge tanks and have your plant burn it when the sun is down or the wind isn't blowing.
