  1. Freebsd 5 Tuning? on Performance Tuning for Linux Servers · · Score: 1

Anyone seen a good webpage or book on Freebsd 5 tuning? Sendmail is kicking the sh*t out of my Freebsd 5 boxes where on lunix it runs fine.

Hynix cant compete on the same grounds profit wise or quality wise. If people went for quality versus cheap generic, this would not have ever been a problem in the first place.

  5. XM Rocks, Sirius blows on Why (FM, Not XM) Radio Sucks · · Score: 1

Exactly. This is why XM will suceed and Sirius will continue to fail. Either way almost all the rock/techno/alternative channels on XM do not have commercials and do not plan on it.

Beeboop has not kept up with the times. XM recently raised $475 mil in new funds and GM (the worlds largest automaker) has committed to include XM compatible receivers in 75 percent of all new vehicles. The cash with combined with their current 360k subs gives them enough cash to sit pretty for years to come.

How many subs does Sirius have again?

XM could have pussed out and done a recap like Sirius but why when they have the superior product and superior market share to back it up?

I have to second this. We use lvs on our mail system (close to 1 million email accounts) and on our web cluster (over 10,000 sites doing terabytes of data per month).

Much cheaper then using a commercial product and a simple pentium2 w/ 128mb can handle quite a lot of traffic.

Using a mylex raid card that mirrors (raid1) an 18gb drive to another and then use lvm for partitioning. Its the best way to go IMO.
