The nominees are in for Part II of the 'Why The Hell Not' awards. The nominees for 'Best Slashdot Comment Poster' are Anonymous Coward, Tom Christiansen, Bruce Perens, John Carmack and BOredAtWork. The nominees for 'Favorite Slashdot Author' are CmdrTaco, roblimo, Jon Katz and Hemos. The nominees for 'Best Slashdot Story of 1999' are the Hellmouth series, Suckdot and Quickies. In a surprise announcement, the sole nominee for the 'Hemos' award is none other than... Hemos. Go vote for your favorites now!

    I'd like to cast one vote against Jon "FUD" Katz in the Favorite Slashdot Author poll.

    (Just because it's not anti-Linux FUD doesn't mean it's not FUD.)

    Id like to complain here about lack of options. While clearly, as is specified by the completely unoffical contest rules only hemos is eligible to WIN this award....I would like to be able to vote for other people as well. I'm just as much a hemos fan as the next person, but its a bit limiting. Someone must have nominated someone other than hemos for this award. Its only fair to the reader that we be allowed to vote for other people, only to have our votes discarded due to their inappropriateness. So please, update this vote, and dont lock is into voting for only hemos.

    The only person I knew on this list was John Carmak and Bruce Perns. But those guys are famous only for there 'outside' fame. Not what they've done for slashdot... I mean John only really comments about quake3.

    People seem to really hate Tom Christiansen... gah, whatever

    how is cowboy neal going to hug the hellmouth if it wins? no doubt he would be sucked into it in which case i sure hope a cowboy neal memorial award is set up in the 2001 beanies to honour his great sacrifice.
