I was considering using AWS... but it seemed to complicated with their calculator to get any kind of estimate of what it would cost me I went with dedicated servers instead.
You don't think there are a big portion of people out there who end up ignoring the files they download? Yet PirateBay is penalized for them just the same. That's kind of the point.
It sounds like you just need to wait until the military's new weapon comes out and then find some rich drone operators to carry on this cat and mousery.
The point is, by the logic presented by the music industry and the logic used against Pirate Bay this WILL hurt them. He is proving that it will not, so therefore it begs the question why they were allowed to use this logic in the first place.
Somewhat incorrect. They have purchased a license to play the song on the radio. They have not purchased a license to allow you to record the song so the point is valid.
The only thing that bothers me about this is that Facebook gets to control (and profit from) what the poor masses see. It amounts to a sort of controlled propaganda. As long as they are being regulated and show a range of competitors and not just have an invitation only competition free service, then I am ok with it.
It seems to me if they were truly desperate, they would be looking all over the US, and to import people from Canada. Looking in the next state is hardly trying.
Donald Trump is a businessman. A person who thinks like a businessman doesn't really care what they're saying right now, when push comes to shove they will get themselves ahead and no one else.
If the IT industry was being made worthwhile to do into, I would think it would sell itself. I feel somewhat cheated because when I was going into post secondary education it was supposed to be *the* thing to go into and now they have to drag people into it like this.
Why do people constantly suggest a web console as a replacement to a native application? When you use gmail, the browser gets in the way, there is lag, you have to do things in an HTMLy way.... Web services are far more clumsy, and if I'm deaiing with hundreds of emails it's really nice to not have all those obstacles. Owning your emails is nice too.... my wife lost the last emails that her father sent to her because Microsoft decided she wasn't using her account enough.
"lazy activism" is a complement. There's an age old word to describe what happens in social media, it's "gossip".

As a parent, I would much prefer to hear ANYTHING from /dev/null.

If I told you that you could live totally free of cost, but it would be in a prison, would you accept?

I'm pretty sure that you have to live in a very specific spot in the US to have those kinds of offers available.
"Ignorance is bliss"
I'm pretty sure there are people using rsync successfully for more than "a couple directories".
Java is going to nag me to update even more!
This must be why corporate America is actively working to make every development job one of the worst jobs available.
I thought ALL electrical engineers went into it because they wanted to work with robots! I mean, isn't that the best part of being one?

As long as it doesn't require any special hardware acceleration like Netflix does.
So there is going to be a charging station for all 500 people who stop to shop? Per mall??
It's like how your smartphone lasts all day when you don't need it and dies at 1pm when you do, but with cars. Not awesome.

What's the harm in it? Email is small and with a good search function you never know what you will find in it that you needed to remember.

I am so looking forward to calling an automated car and having to deal with the piss, shit, and vomit that the previous passengers left.
Now you're just talking hipster talk.
