Assange is trying not to be extradited to Sweden, not the US. If he is afraid of extradition to the US, he would have a much better chance in Sweden then the UK.
I know a lot of businesses that have still standardized in IE. I can't believe that it could be that low. Also, with all the Macs and iPhones, Safari should be higher. I know many people have switched to Firefox and Chrome, but I don't think they have killed the others yet.
Pepper Spray the greatest war crime? Did they forget that England invaded during WWII, and the US took over afterward? (Better than the Germans, ask the Norse about that) Don't forget the Cod Wars.
I work in one of those places who still maintain large COBOL systems. One of our problems is getting the customers to change. We provide them a modern system, and the customers still prefer to run batch programs and have reports print out. They just refuse to change their process.
It's the same where I work. It isn't the IT people who are holding up upgrades, it is the workforce. People scream if you make the slightest change to what they use. We still use XP, and had to fight tooth and nail to get them upgraded to IE 7 and Office 2007. I don't know what will happen if we ever try to deploy Windows 8. It's not all of them, but enough to hold up the process.
Remember, these botnets are using the hacked PCs against the owners will, without their knowledge. I don't have a problem with the police seizing the controllers.
After a while of using it, I got used to it. I still find myself trying to launch and switch tasks the old way, but the new way is not bad. Nowhere near as extreme as Windows 8. Still have trouble using that, and we have been testing it since November.
I have hired people like this, and found many of them less than desirable. I have hired people with anywhere from 3-10 years of experience in exactly what I am looking for. When they start working, I find their skill level much to be desired. They try to apply a method they used before, which is completely inappropriate for the situation at hand. I find them taking short cuts they think I won't notice. They argue with the standards we have in place, not because they point out why they are bad, but because they are too much work.
Now, I have also hired great people this way. What I am really looking for is someone who works to understand the problem and can learn, research and develop a solution. Sometimes the guy right out of school is the best one for this. Other times it is someone we already have on hand who has no experience with what we are doing, but is very flexible and can learn quickly.
At least one of the US carriers finally is realizing that they have bandwidth. Dump 2G and use those frequencies for more advanced protocols. Too many of them keep their "largest coverage area" by keeping 2G going, instead of replacing it.
Weather? Really?
It's one louder
So many great books. Ringworld, Integral trees, Mote in God's eye.

Didn't he lose his case and all the appeals?
Wait until the Mull shows up and screws everything up.

I can finally take the floppy disk storage case off my desk!

Forget Wikileaks. Let's invade Iceland.
Wozniak returned to college and received his degree after he became rich. He realized he needed it.
The replacement was SAP, which requires things like turning the computer on and logging in. They seem to prefer 132 char fixed font reports.

That is the only good use I ever found for Windows 1.
It had a better interface than Metro.
I tried to come up with the 30 best features of Windows 1. I don't think it had 30 features, even counting startup and shutdown.
Are we just going back to AIM?
Are you trying to make an actual Turing Machine?
and how many cards that would take.
Penn State!
