  1. Blizzfail! on Blizzard Authenticators May Become Mandatory · · Score: 3, Interesting

I have to admit this is quite funny, in the last few days i had my battlenet/WOW account banned for gold farming. Not played it in about a year, so i went throught the process of trying to establish what happened. Got passwords and so on reset but the git attached the said "Blizzard Activator" to my account and i'm back at square one and locked out of battlenet/WOW.

  2. Re:That's bright! on Patent Claim Could Block Import of Toyota's Hybrid Cars · · Score: 1

It wouldn't be the first time that something from the Toyota hybrid range patent has been questioned, I know a nasty little story about a patent lawyer, University and Toyota screwing an old man out of work he had done on a electric drive system that was very similar to the original hybrid vehicles from Toyota. Needless to say, Toyota made lots of money and the old man is hardly living a life he should be able to with the amount of personal investment he did in his invention.

  3. Step up and do the movies! on German Parliament Enacts Internet Censorship Law · · Score: 2, Interesting

Living in Australia I have the joy of having games censored for the localised version. Violent movies are still widely available in comparison, why is it that the games are always targeted and not the movies. There has been plenty of films i've watched over the years I wouldn't suggest to under 18's but for them it is suprisingly easy to hire said movies from the local video shop.

  4. Re:Do. on French President Busted For Copyright Violation · · Score: 1

The big boys all follow that game plan, do as i say not as i do situation comes into play here. Dont be surprised at who does it, i know someone that owns an online music shop who has sent me tracks before(not from the stores selection though). Still have strong beliefs that there should be a yearly fee to allow us to access all this music none of this per song/album nonsense.

  5. Yes it was(at least a few years ago) on IT Job Without a Degree? · · Score: 1

I am a self taught IT geek with no degree or formal training in the area. When i was living in London a few years ago I had a few sys admin jobs and a few people i know were doing similar things with out the formal qualifications that seem to be so sort after nowadays. Saying that, now i live back in Aus and trust me no degree = no "real IT" work here so and i would presume that this is the same issue in the US. HR in corporate environments seem to have lost their way with what experience really is vs that piece of paper saying that you can do the job. If they only ignored qualifications to allow people to the interview, the occasion when i've gotten to that point i've shocked them with my corporate references from previous employment. Alas now i am doing my degree, cant keep up with the market without it now.
