You ought to be able to "preset" some of this EXIF type metadata before shooting on a digital camera. Like, at a wedding, key in "Sally's Wedding 2004" and that gets metaed into the image.
Not good for the one-off snap, but good for a run of Xmas, wedding, ski trip, etc.
If the consumer cries loud enough, even the best advertising format will be defeated. Hence popup blockers, Tivos, telezappers, spam filters, etc., etc., etc.
Yeah! Har har! That's almost as funny as when the connection to a Slashdotted PHP/mySQL combo goes south and it prints a database connection error all over the screen except that it's not really funny because PHP/mySQL is open source and not the devil Microsoft.
Again, lots of legit reasons to criticise MS... this ain't one of them (I think even BillyG would say that Access ain't ready for the/. effect).
... AFAIK, Microsoft files patents almost exclusively for defensive purposes. Look at their patent history. Not much in the way of patent enforcement. Take CSS for example.
Can someone summarize if I am going to get 20-to-life and a cellblock husband if I download the spec?
Jeez, how many paragraphs into the legal requirements do you have to be before you realize that ain't reeeeeal conducive to getting people to beta/bug track/improve your product for free?
Thanks for writing. I'll get your software in the mail right away; I just need your mailing address.
Oh, never mind, here it is in my SQL box, right here next to your SSN, your home phone, your shopping habits, your mothers maiden name, your dog's favorite food, and a complete catalog of your web surfing history.
Did you bother to evaluate whether you actually needed every patch listed? Are your workstations behind a moderately well configured firewall? Thanks for the comments, but you strike me as the "default install" kinda person.

Yeah, because any Linux box could have handled the fucking ass kicking that massive simultaneous connections from users downloading large screenshots generates. Also, no doubt the available bandwidth for that server is not sufficient simply because it's Windows.
Windows Script Host does this already. You can script in any language compatible with WSH, which includes things like VBS, C-Script (whatever the hell that is), Perl, Python, JScript, etc.
