A glacial wind comes of a glacier. That is a sea wind, a cool wind, a wind, but it is not a glacial wind.
The English have never learned about real weather. There is always talk about arctic weather if the temperatures go below zero - arctic weather is in the region of minus 20 to minus 50.
It is the north sea that gives temperate weather to Britain, keeps it warmer than continental areas at the same latitude. Ask the Russians!
I can see an enormous upside to this, namely Google apps. Sharing documents makes the coursework and administration so much easier. I wish we had it at the school I teach at.
How much would actors get paid for the use of their 'trade-marked' names? When does a name become common property? I'm imagining a slew of Marlene Dietrich films, because nobody bothered to keep the copyright going...
The latest Intel processors have built-in graphics. Of course, most AMD motherboards have built-in graphics, but that's not the processor. And then there's all the graphics cards in the world... Pure semantics.
I'm one of those guys who fixes Windows, and I can understand you don't want to be lumped together with us:). How about calling yourself 'software engineers'?
Look at how good Microsoft have it. You copy their code, they'll sue the ass off you. They even pretend Linux has copied their code, just for FUD. But when they steal code, they just say sorry and publish it, and everyone says 'how awesome!'. No cost - they win kudos instead. A charmed life.
As far as servers go, I started on Windows, and find Linux easier to use nowadays. The GUI doesn't make Windows so much easier (I use mostly non-GUI linux), and a lot of Microsofts' web documentation seems to be intentionally vague, no doubt because they are hoping you will buy a certification course. Also, Microsoft spam themselves with papers, articles etc stating that program x can do such and such, without giving a 'how to', which is what people are searching for. Google a Linux problem and you get a good 'how to' in 99% of cases, making it easier to learn, and therefore administer.
There's a ton of crap paid-for software as well. In fact. there are very few good paid-for programmes, but one has to pay money to find out how good they are. I don't know how goos MS Office is, because I refuse to pay $150 for the absolute cheapest license just to find out. OoO does the job, no need to pay.
Honestly, the defenders of proprietary software seem pretty lame. They want a prettier interface, and a 'different' default font, judging by these posts. I ignore the looks of the interface, and change the default font to one I prefer (in OoO), and save myself lots.
Why use the default fonts? Why not just change them? As far as I remember, Times New Roman is default on OoO. It was in every other word processor for years as well. I believe that MS Office has changed from that default. Mac no doubt has as well. It only takes 2 minutes to change to another font, you have the chance to be unique!
The trick to getting XP to download at a faster rate is looking to see how many seeders there are. How often do you need to download a new operative system anyway? Oh, you mean...
Buffalo make a 1Tb network attached drive containing 2 500Gb disks. Configure it in RAID 1 (with the config wizard)and mirror the info. Plug in once a month to stop the disks sticking. Done. Cheap and simple.

Yes, it was rifles that saved Sweden. Sweden manufactured the rifles, and sold them to the Nazis, ensuring friendship.

I'm only guessing, but could the mayor of Berwyn, Maryland possibly be black?
Anyone got a recipe for Open Sauce?

shouldn't that mean that the second most common language should be Japanese?
All browsers are bad on Mac? Sounds like the platform is at fault, not the browser.
Yes they do. Snow Leopard is still OSX, just an updated version.
