    Yes they have..... try searching for a few minutes, its not hard to get the numbers....
    Besides that, the fact that it is spreading over the world like crazy should give you a bit of a hint that it is indeed very easy to spread it to others.

    Anybody who thinks that creationists will simply give up one day when you show them a missing link is wrong.... creationists will simply point out that to them you just created two new missing links in the family tree....
    The don't have arguments... just their dogma, you are not going to convince them.

    Any theory has its weaknesses.
    There is no reason not to teach them, but there certainly is no reason to single out evolution. There are a lot of theories thought which are far more contested, yet nobody thought it necessary to make a fuss about it...

    That would be fine... if they said that at the beginning of every science related subject. It would be even better if they also explained the scientific method so students would also understand why 'facts' provided by science can change.
    But this was no such thing... Evolution was singled out very specificly, and that is just wrong.
    This had only one purpose, and that is to sneak in 'god did it' into a science class.

    we can measure them objectivly.....

    So please read my post again and keep repeating that until you understand it.
    I never said that you need to understand tornados in order to prove their existence!

    I don't have to do a study, they have been done several times. And they have been published in peer reviewed journals. I am not just making a claim.
    They showed clearly that it doesn't matter were you put the needle, as long as the patient thinks you are putting it in a special accupuncture place it works.

    If you followed your own advice you would already know that.

    That is the tricky part about chiropractors.... manipulating a joint does actually help.... its called physiotherapy.
    However chiropractors also claim that they can heal all kinds of stuff that has nothing to do with joints or your skeleton. That part is bullshit. A chiropractor is a physiotherapist with nonsense added.

    If you add 0.15 grams and 0.85 grams you end up with 1 gram and no space left for active ingredients.

    Evidence does not mean understanding.

    We can have evidence that an effect exists without having to know what causes it.
    Double blind testing is just that... seeing if just a single difference has any effect at all.

    Auras are bullshit because in a blinded trials those who claim to see/feel them are incapable of detecting the difference between a human and a christmas tree.

    Same with brainwaves... you can propose any other kind of new 'radiation' but unless you find a way to actually measure it (like in a double blinded test) it might as well not exist.

    Humans are very good in finding 'connections' where there are none.
    Its probably some trait we got a long time ago when being a paranoid critter with an overactive imagination gave you a better change not to be eaten by a predator.

    Benchmarking is exactly were the problem lies....

    Having your code reviewed by a peer who can actually comment on it and understand what you are (or are not) doing is not bad. Either they understand it, or you have to defend your work with actual technical arguments. The end result is that you both have an opportunity to learn.
    Having your code reviewed by a mindless idiot comparing it to the official procedure is bad.... Even worse when the idiot is replaced by a program. Forcing everybody to follow a single holy procedure simply reduces all code to be mediocre.

    Quacks come in all sizes and shapes, that is true.
    But at the least we have made some provisions that forbid cheating... (although the system might be imperfect). We also have provisions to make doctors accountable for mistakes....
    Yet somehow we still have no clear laws against most of the 'alternative' crap.

    How many innocent people are you willing to sacrifice to get one terrorist?
    This has nothing to do with your constitution. The right of a fair trial is a basic human right.

    You don't measure a society just by its principles. How well these principles stay intact during difficult times (such as after a terrorist attack) is just as important.
    And the US has been failing miserably on this aspect.

    It doesn't matter how many monsters are after you. It is your own behavior that defines whether you are one yourself.
