According to Apple, the iPod was announced october 23, 2001: CUPERTINO, California--October 23, 2001--Apple(R) today introduced iPod(TM), a breakthrough MP3 music player that...
Did they miss 5 days (it was not yet on the market, but info was general available it seems)?
The claims seem to be filed October 28, 2002. If I'm not mistaken, this is AFTER the iPod came on the market for the first time. (confirmed using Google)
My understanding is that this makes their own claims invalid IF they are applicable on the existing iPod at that time.
The red-light cameras appear to have saved lives in the city, where a total of 17 people were killed in red-light-running accidents in 1997 and 1998, compared with five in 2000 and 2001. It is too soon to assess the impact of speed cameras in the city, where a total of 63 people died in speed-related crashes in 2000 and 2001.
I know, those damned statistics. But can somebody give me ONE GOOD ARGUMENT AGAINST those camera's?
Back when we had Pentium 100s with 16MB of ram and WIndows 95, the windows modem concept was a clear winner for the bean counters but dammit, it sucked the life away of the machine.
Now we are in the land of the 1+ GHZ Celeron with 128MB of ram. The overhead of the winmodem should be tiny, unless the drivers are horribly written.
Nope, YOU are in the land of 1+ GHZ stuff. Where I live, a new computer costs about 3 times the minimum gross income (which counts for more than 30% of the people). Do you know what equipment schools are using in most contries? (If they even can afford them)
I own a 166MMX, ever tried viewing those bloated Java/DHTML/Flash etc. etc. sites using a WinModem? Hell, can't even use Mozilla on that machine.
As long as progress is only made at the front of the line, lots of people will be left out in the cold.
It is clear that you do not understand a thing about 3rd generation mobile networks.
these networks use IPv6 as the transport for the call data Wrong. Networks can use IPv6, but do not need to. Most probably they will not initially. There is to much ATM out there. (Ever studied Voice over IP over ATM?)
Billing is likely to be based on your source IP addressBilling will not be based on your I address. Your IP address will have no meaning within the network. Spoofing the normal way is out of the question.
(and probably circumvent a whole load of encryption and authentication)...is mostly done on the air-interface. Please explain me how you intend to do this.
SkRiPt KiDdIeS will have easy access to all the 3G networks the moment they dial up to the internet Those networks only transport data. If a use snailmail, my letter is able to control a mail distribution centre? (Bombs excluded)

Then why is it that the US tries to influence Dutch politics concerning mariuana?
Why can't we respect that every country has their own culture with their own values? Do we need to tackle everything as a technical, internet based
problem?
Please, wake up and understand that the world does not stop at your own border, that life can't be expressed in bits and bytes.
Can somebody explain me for which region these second hand books are coded? I'd like to buy one, but I'm affraid they will be useless for me here in Europe.
I heard something about region-free glasses and glasses where I can change the settings a few times. which one should I buy?
Please, 17 year old Danish boy, can you send me your program. I got a new book from Rusia but can't read it. Than you for your help.

I studied at the Eindhoven University of Technology (Eindhoven) and my diplom says I have a degree in computING science and not in computer science.
IBM's Special Needs Systems focuses on developing and using
IBM technology to enhance employability, education and the
quality of life of people with disabilities....
Why is everybody talking about programming languages and IDE's one should use when learning programming? I remember my fist year at the Eindhoven Technical University. We had to make programs using pen and paper!!
Programming is not about c, c++, pascal etc etc. Everybody who is teaching the basics of programming should stay away from GUI's. Even 'print' and 'read' statements should be avoided.
The first thing they teached me was predicate calculus. Don't underestimate the importance of Predicate Calculus. The programs we had to write were in GCL (Guarded Command Language). Nobody was talking about compiling them (I don't even know if there exists a compiler) My teacher didn't look at my algorithm, he looked at my proof/derivation of it. We had a basic rule:
if (derivation == correct) -> program = correct
Programming is more than putting statements in a special order, check if it compiles and try a few times to see if the results it produces are correct. Everybody who disagrees should start writing a efficient program for a NP-Complete problem and not stop until he/she finished it. (and just in case, I'm not going to prove P == NP)
I can just tell the friend - go to ftp.redhat.com for the sources. RedHat's obligation of providing the source is now to my friend, not me.
RedHat had the obligation of providing the source to you, but do they have it also towards your friend? With a transfer of ownership of rights you don't automaticly transfer RedHat's obligation or is this enbedded in the GPL?

if (!Read(abDummy, cbSkip))
goto Cleanup;
GOTO considered harmful.
but computer science is about algorithms, structuring data and abstracting problems
That's why I prefer to call it computING science.
Guess you didn't read the patent. Tulip filed this one on June 13, 1995 to the USPTOb and almost 1 year earlier in the Netherlands (Jun 14, 1994).
What if my company (or I) buy software that is covered by a patent but for wich no fee is paid (Linux). Am I allowed to use it internally?
Thanks in advance.
The GBA is for gamers, Nokia is aiming for customers that would like to have the possibility to play a few games on the mobile.
Different market I would say.

Every reviewer who says he is independent should review the card and send it back. By accepting it as a gift, you're bought by the manufacturer.
