All the encryption or frequency hopping codes are known to someone thus it can be monitored. So I am thinking the same should apply to the internet. Just keep modem and router turned off when not in use. or just unplug router when away from the computer if you do not wish to lose your ip...this is even if you have verified through your ISP that unknown mac addresses are using your connection. You find that people that do not contact their ISP or local authorities...probably doing something wrong themselves and do not want to let the cat out of the bag.
