Then Pandora is their Encyclopedia Galactica, which is just a cover for their plans of World Domination(tm)... Clearly they must be stopped!
If I recall my psychohistory correctly, then the Galactic Empire^H^H^H^H^H^H^H^H^H^H^H^H^H^H^H US Government will send some big ship with a cocky general over to subjugate them, after they take over New Zealand and all those other tiny islands around them, only to be foiled by a member of the 2nd Foundation, armed with Mentalics... But that's where the similarity would end, because we all know that the Austrialia doesn't have telepaths...

Is anybody else a bit unsettled by this revelation?
Apparently the problem reached crisis proportions when one lone employee sent such a massive MP3 file from his home computer to his State Department computer that, in the words of one official, "it created a bottleneck" and blocked multiple users trying to access their computers.
In fact, I went to King's site to try to donate $10, as I believe this is a really important experiment. Unfortunately, I could only donate in $1 increments, and as such, I wasn't about to go through the same forms 10 times... So my advice to King, and anybody else who plans on implementing this type of system, is to allow for donations that exceed the "asking price".
Yesterday we used the Slashdot Effect to bring down the potato server, today, let's use our power for Good(TM)! There is a phone number attached to the report, (202) 547-0001. I called that number and actually got to speak to the author of the document. I told him that I was an independant musician, who used Napster to freely distribute my music, and that it would be a large mistake to try to stiffle Napster-like technology in its infancy, as, although, yes, today it's being used for piracy, tommorow it will be used for so much more...
My point is this: Read the highly moderated posts, and then call this person, and give him the best arguments we've come up with in a very level headed manor. He's a very easy person to talk to, so be nice to him =)
As a side note, at the end of the conversation, he asked where I heard of his proposal, and I told him "Slashdot.org". He then said, "Oh, isn't that the hacker website?". I responded with "Heh, yeah, but we aren't the evil kind of hackers. We care about open source software, and, above all else, freedom."
Speaking for myself, Slashdot has really opened my eyes to the world and issues of Open Source. I *really* appreciate how much this website has taught, and I'd just like to thank everybody involved, editors and posters alike. =)

Now that's quite the massive mp3!
