forgive me t-mobile, i'd forgotten the details of the problem; the above should read: when microsoft never released a driver update for wifi calling. - the ball was totally in microsoft's court.
Left Windows phones (Lumia 640) for an iPhone when neither microsoft nor t-mobile would get together and sort out the wifi calling mess that left us stuck on Windows Phone 8. Can those users upgrade to 10 yet?
AS IANAL, I've not taken a BAR exam; having difficulty envisioning why this is a problem, or why laptops of any kind were previously allowed. If such a simple feature like this is enough to cheat on such an illustrious exam, then how can any faith be placed in the hands of lawyers that have passed the exam in the last 10 years. Or if this was merely a tool for already intelligent people that deserved their PASS, why do we care? ATM, i am imagining an 80 year old lady with a large ruler walking between aisles of desks and no comprehension of electronics since the Wheelwriter, failing students with their fancy illuminated gizmos
Technically, AsusWRT is forked from Tomato. There is, however, openwrt based entware/optware package managers for MIPS and ARM based routers, respectively, when utilizing AsusWRT-Merlin. Asus also runs some additional packages via their own hosted optware repos, but these are generally outdated, with exception to certain core extras.
Personally, I think the AiCloud features are nice in theory, but I also prefer the more standard options. AiCloud has companion android/ios apps for the less technically saavy.
as the subject line indicates, i use the rt-ac56r (~100usd at walmart) as my primary router and with the asuswrt-merlin fork i have dual simultaneous openvpn servers configurable from the webui. awesome router. and true to asus' reknown for keeping old devices updated, the 'adaptive qos' based on trendmicro's DPI based system is on it's way to this venerable device, which premiered in the latest model, the rt-ac87u
I switched to CenturyLink 10mbit DSL because I suffered a dramatically reduced income, after having been on the 50/10 Comcast tier. I even had to spend some time in a pretty poor town. I had my full 10mbit there. Most of my neighbors there we're on centurylink, many using their IPTV-based PRISM service because it was cheaper than comcast and more reliable than satelite. I even worked with CL Engineers in diagnosing a broken fiber run into town. The way I see it, CL is still mostly an ATM based DSL provider and they ultimately have a lot more work cut out for them and with not nearly the resources Comcast has, in upgrading their entire networks.
Yes, it would be far better they were on the streets rather than in their homes. many a childhood has been wrecked with less than 5mbit. comcast really should be diverting these funds toward boarding schools, eh? if comcast isn't parenting my kids for me, they must be doing it wrong.
While Bill Gates isn't necessarily wrong, this is kind of awkward to see. I'm glad that Bill Gates cares enough to help countries in need of healthcare reform, however i would imagine those same countries would be glad for technologies that would enable them to figure out things like that for themselves. They are both covering relatively immediate needs.
So, I wonder if Bill Gates has considered asking Google's humanitarian projects if they might like to dedicate some resources to helping improving (and reducing cost of) the tech side of healthcare, which would be of the best ways to use a resource like Google, aside from throwing money at the problem.
Regardless, story feels incomplete or Bill needs to communicate.
I personally like the idea of integration with my Windows boxes, but the iPad has existed for some years now. I can't believe that MS wants to price their new tablet comparably with the iPad when their customers are essentially going to be beta testing their new OS, on new hardware. MS should have kept hardware costs low for the first attempt, TRIED to price the unit between an android tablet and the iPad, while growing their brand new software garden.
Keep in mind, i'm of the type to think the iPad is still overpriced, despite their proven success.
I see that many comments include utilities that may or may not indicate ACTUAL problems. Some of these test for speed, but how? Personally, i find the most accurate way to test storage media (and network media) is by copying data to and from the storage media in question, to a RAMDISK. For network throughput, i like to copy ramdisk to ramdisk via differing protocols, ie ftp/http/samba, etc. (i run a small ramdisk as a virtual folder in IIS (win7) for hosting small files to give to friends.) Also, installing (cpu/mem/gpu) benchmark utilities to a ramdisk yields interesting results. i don't believe most or all benchmark utilities are ACTUALLY unhindered by storage media when testing other components, like the cpu.
dear nvidia,
this is how to make this article irrelevant. that dial for depth control? that needs to be a 3 way switch for min, middle and max. the dial itself? convergence. our webcams don't interface with your software to detect pupil position/distance, yet. please fix this as well as plaster the importance of adjusting convergence (preferably at max depth, imo) by adjusting til the gun in their hand is crystal, then adjust slightly for range. using the webcam idea as a calibration springboard, if you could then adjust convergence from outside of the game automatically at a comfortable rate based on what the ingame 'camera' is looking at and fixing this treacherous laser sight bs, i'd be ecstatic.
to expand on this; CONVERGENCE! the controls for these setting are disabled by default when nvidia SERIOUSLY needs to be putting more emphasis on the use of these. as much as i'd love convergence calibration via pupil distance/position measured via webcam in conjunction with a game engine that comfortably adjusts convergence automatically based on what you are looking at... these tucked away settings with crappy ctrl combos are what we got when this seriously needed to be built into the same device that allows depth control. come on, DEPTH CONTROL? that could be a 3 way freaking switch. the dial is supposed to be for convergence. Honestly!
Nvidia, fix this before somebody takes this from you. love, adrian:)

activision loses the game, customers lose the game. this means infinitywards is plotting for the subsequent class action suit filed by purchasers of the game (thanks to the lack of dedicated servers) or they plan to use this for leverage, no?
Technology doesn't progress unless you can show an audience why they like it. 3D tech has to start somewhere. Looking at history, a lot of new technology started off appearing as a scam to some moderately intelligent douchebag, sold to an even less informed person.

As a t-mo user on the Lumia 640, the delay doesn't affect me much as i am awaiting the w10m wifi calling driver fix.
AES acceleration has been integrated into the wireless chipsets for quite a while.

what does cisco have to do with it?
Words escape me reading this article. This must be the worst article i've ever seen on any tech site of any caliber. Wow!

are you concerned about... i dunno, friction? ambient temperature? don't store your drives in snow or furnaces and stop overclocking your megabytes
