Oh man, the TI-84's are great.

Thought not considered hacking, me and my mates have found the best use for these small powerhouses. Since both Honors Chemistry and Honors Trig require extensive memorization of theorems and things a like, we load them all onto the calculators and then on the exams it looks like we're solving equations, as opposed to cheating :)

Some would argue this should be posted as AC, but posting as AC is for pussies.

I'm currently in high school, taking a handful or tech courses so I have a good idea on what the population wants.

First, one real to abide by, please: Make the work more about giving them what they NEED to know; as opposed to just giving them some busy-work (Put in some projects and hands-on labs).

Since programming isn't it for everyone, I'd go a hardware direction. First teach them what the components in a computer are, and take a few sessions to explain what they do (Power ratings, manufacturers, ect.)
Once they know the basics well, try to get your hands on a few old computers. In my experience, every school has at least a handful of old desktops, laptops, and a few CRT's laying around waiting to be disposed of (Or in this case, tampered with ;D)
Put the individuals in groups and let them attempt to dissemble and re-assemble the machines. If you still have some time left, maybe go into gadgets and consoles? That's sure to be a hit.

I would sure love to have a "real" camera from Apple. Strap some proper optics to the iPhone platform and you've got a killer product: photos automatically GPS tagged and seamlessly uploaded in the background to your iphoto library, with support via apps for any kind of online hosting, plus specialty stuff like time lapse or other artistic/scientific needs. Full HD video of course, perhaps even with wifi streaming to an apple TV for instant nostalgia. Price it to compete with entry level DSLR and they would capture a huge chunk of market share overnight. Maybe not the volume of the cell phone market, but great margins.

For those of you wondering why there's an "Apple tax", you now know why; Its because idiots like this guy over here want ever little fucking nook and cranny put into a device and expect it to be dirt cheap.

I really doubt an offering from Google is ready for the government scene. They may be perfect for home consumer markets, which is fine, but not government or 'secure' corporate.

People in the "secure" market have phones. The thing all phones have in common is that they can all be hacked; doesn't matter whether its an IPhone or a BB if someone wants your information, they can get it.
