I figure that they might have done this for a Mac version. 512 Mb of memory goes a long way to getting two 30" displays worth of data in a video card that is using the Apple "Core Image" technologies.
Verizon has been warning customers in eastern Massachusetts that they will be going to 10 digit numbers in the spring. Currently it is optional to dial 10 digits, although 7 will still work. In the spring (I don't remember when) we will HAVE to dial 10 digits. All of this stems from the area codes that they are adding overlayed with the existing ones. This will cause any given area to have two area codes that will mandate 10 digit dialing.
Digi Cams are not yet good enough to do this. But with my film scanner and my Epson 870 (better than a mini-lab) printer. It looks good enough to fool anyone.
Lest you forget... Music that is copyrighted is NOT FREE. As soon as Metallica puts out open souce music on the internet then you will be free to trade it as you like. In the meantime you (if you are a law abiding citizen) should continue to purchase music on CD (and if you are cheap or poor buy it used).
IMHO: MP3s no matter what bit rate it is encoded at sound awful, but that does not stop me from coping my CD collection to MP3 for listening at work. This is still legal. It is no worse than making a "mix tape" for listening in the car. Just don't support MASS bootlegging like Napster does. Napster is just as bad as the proliferation of Chinese CD pirates, giving you substandard product that profits some one else than the creator of the bootlegged material.
Is this a resurrection of the Slashdot effect? Or did someone higher up at Level(3) notice this and pull the blog post?

I work in MA and had about 12 copies this morning and still they keep trickling in. So the total is about 25 or so.
And no I didn't open a single one.

I have been using the new (beta) version since Feburary, and it works great. I boot my system from 13 GB in on a 27 GB disk!
