It's not just instant gratification... I wanted to be a Chemist but they were hiring foreign PHD for 35K a year to work in the hood next to me I saw the writing on the wall. Just wanted enough income to buy a house and support a family so switched to computers.
Hogwash. 'Math isn't for girls' maybe was something she was telling hereself, or maybe her friends were telling her this. I distinctly remember girls outperforming us guys in advanced math classes back in the 80s. Who has been telling girls this (other than other girls?).
Maybe he should start writing science fiction? Most of these things he talks about have been already thought about, maybe we can start planning this thing when there are mining robots on earth.
While I agree there will always be possibility of issues with updates, it's difficult to believe it's contribution costs 3x more than a mac. I'm having a hard time remembering personally experiencing any significant issues with 20 years experience.
Have actually worked in a real enterprise environment? They disable automatic updates and push their own patches. If they are having that much of a problem their IT department is incompetent.
I don't care who uses the bathroom... this fee stacking has been going on for at least two decades or more and the FTC does nothing about it. I see our Don Quixote government running a 500b debt and accomplishing nothing.
For basketball I would claim another degree of separation. Even if you are 5'5" you can be a professional basketball player if you can 'hang' with the taller guys. Selection is strictly performance oriented.
Keeping the wife happy is certainly worth it :)
a niche market with limited growth potential = failure
A phone with a docking station so it could be used as a desktop would be pretty cool. (Yes I know there is already some such thing)
Well they were giving Windows 10 away, so it must be worth nothing.

When has computers been discussed (ever) on TV in an even vaguely realistic sense?

1200 pounds and 15k dollars? At this point it seems like a bit of a kludge....
Can't wait until they come out with a cordless washing machine!
Instead of exploding the first day you get your Note, it will explode day ten.
We are already close to 1/5 for the theoretical limit for lithium ion batteries
Yeah, like they didn't start with the low hanging fruit.....

Yeah I wonder if it is just a matter of their Windows support team full of crusty dead weight and their new mac support team being cheap.

2/3 of the cost of your bill is distribution, so yeah, the calculation is off by a bit
I find it pretty interesting there is a Hindi word for hundreds-of-thousands but suit yourself :-)
Or maybe, just maybe don't want to be liable for problems when a customer is using it for profit?
They should box him up and send him here by UPS, then we could say 'the Czech is in the mail'
Pretty sure anyone doing serious video or audio editing work ditched macs several years ago.

Remove all the guts and you have a nice high tech clamshell to carry around a paper pad and a pen.

Perhaps a hotspot where the cpu is located.
