I don't want to be either a Microsoft apologist or patent troll but I used to work in the chemical industry and was involved with several patents and getting patents is a very cost intensive process. Patent lawyers don't come cheap.
I've noticed the too many stops too. Often they will have stops on both sides of an intersection- like people can't cross the street. If they cut the stops in half people would save a lot more time than the small amount of walking they will have to do.
As someone that drives a car on roads with multiple bus routes I would have to say they are pretty unsafe. The way they stop and start seriously disrupts the flow of traffic as cars get stuck behind them and have to turn into other lanes. Also for some unknown reason they have the bus stops immediately after the light in an intersection, so if you aren't careful you can be stuck in the intersection when the light turns red. I would be curious to know how many accidents are due to buses that don't directly involve the bus.
That's crap. The whole point of it was to represent the state legislature, not the people. The state legislature would reign in legislation that makes laws that would be onerous for the state to implement. The state legislature is much closer to dealing with budgets and laws of the state than the average voter.... that's why we elect them (state legislature) to work for us.
I've turned off the thing for automatic downloading and I don't normally reboot my machine, I just hibernate. Every couple of months I will review the updates and reboot. Also used GWX control panel to get rid of the popup.
So government is going to have to release source code from some crappy custom HR or accounting application? Really folks think about the business applications you work on.
In a few years you will be able to steal someone's self driving car and reprogram it. He should of said 'weapon delivery system'. It really doesn't need to be fast or do any of the other things you mention.
There was a story about some guy who figured out how to gang consumer microwave magnetrons on a resonant waveguide that resulted in a coherent beam. This was about 5 years ago- and not a peep since.
I know it's a quote, but having grown up there although people are in a rush they are quick to help out if you ask for it. It's the people from the outer boroughs (think jersey shore show) you want to avoid.
Yes but how many? None of us walked around feeling insecure because 911 wasn't a keypress away. I would say a lot has been lost, like the ability to plan outings with family and friends or use a map. In fact there has been studies that have shown a general reduction of executive function in the population.
Nobody uses TFS for public facing repositories.
A few years ago I would say you had a point but after Windows 10 debacle I think they have earned a lot of hate.

Should have said " The senate would reign in legislation"

It's a shame one of the anti-virus companies doesn't give you the option to call anything win 10 related a virus and remove it.
I unplugged the network and power cable, pulled the cpu and ram out and ran the hard drive through a deep wipe.... and Windows 10 still got installed!

Look at what it has done to 'real' intelligence.
Is that German for White Castle? That is a burger place.
No, I believe they run a hot dog stand around the corner from my house.
also, think of the children!

The whole point was to compare actual risk vs perceived risk, so I am not sure why you brought up vaccines. Also no reason to get nasty :-)
No it's magic.... really!

How about mounting an automatic weapon in the back of a pickup truck?
You are equating having 911 available to use on cell phones to vaccines? That is ridiculous.
Grammar is not a part of executive function. I don't think their is anything lower on earth than an anonymous grammar nazi.
Lots of us have driven to other states for job interviews and then moved. It's not that hard.
