Don't know about you but in my area they provide "Power" internet which is plenty fast, I just don't want to pay that much. Now I'm stuck with Charter which forces me to buy their 60 Mb, oh wait it is only 30 in my area but it still seems to be the same subscription) when all I really want is 15 Mb (and the price that goes with it). Sigh...
How about a setup that detects when one more drive failure will cause the raid array to fail and spins up a new unused drive to be ready for that failure?
They are way away from reaching me but the more cities they get into, the more competition the provide against the other companies. I can only hope this helps me eventually.
Seems to me if this meant anything it would more mean the various platforms should be compatible with each other, at least the commercial ones. Even that seems like a massive stretch.
Yep, I may have issues with how some of the measurements and projections are made and what the true impact is but I've never considered it a hoax. Though if it gets us switched over to renewable fuels I can't complain too much. Just like the inedibility of the sun taking out this planet and us having to move elsewhere, fossil fuels won’t last forever, or likely be all that useful on any colony off this planet.
Then again I'm not more sane than the next guy, just my bent $0.02.
Yeah, my passwords to sites I'm not overly concerned about are a common single word or if I want to feel mildly more secure I toss a number in the middle of it. Just a throw away really.
In my opinion what is important is how to think logically and organize a computer program. Some support this organization better than others but I haven't found a language yet that can't be written properly with care and thought. While I prefer something object oriented like C# or Python or even *mutter*Java*mutter*, the concepts of proper programming are most important.
I was skinny when I was 115 pounds. Now I'm somewhere between 8% and 15% body fat which is fine for me. I can't bench press 350 but I'm fine with 200 and can rock climb like a monkey.
I'm 150 pounds and 5'10" and used to drink a 20 ounce pop about once a day and eating fast food two or three times a week. That was balanced out by eating nothing more than what can fit in a small lunch bag for breakfast and lunch and dinner is typically a home cooked meal. Most of the time I could eat more but just ignore the hunger. That being said just getting off the 20 ounce pop means I don't have to watch what I eat nearly as much, these days I usually just drink pop when I'm too stressed out to pass it by.
Also I would say watch the alcohol consumption. I've seen coworkers put down more than one pitcher of beer and that is not low calorie.
From the article: "The authors extrapolated from available research that those who spend long hours in sedentary activity are 90% more likely than those who don't to develop type 2 diabetes."
I am not a doctor but my understanding is a majority of type 2 diabetes is caused by being overweight. So is it the sitting that is causing the problems in general, and the type 2 diabetes specifically, or is it due to burning less calories than those in an active job so consuming the same calories leads to being over weight?
Just my bent $0.02.
I work for a contracting company, our data retention limit is the end of time. Though knowing that all of our e-mails are kept stored for possible contract issues also means I try not to send highly embarrassing e-mails on work e-mail...
Like the first time I had a sink clog fixed and the plumber pointed out to me how to take it apart and fix it myself (wish my parents had shown me). They charged $59 for the trip out and now I take care of it myself in 15 minutes. I've fixed a couple furnace and air conditioner issues myself that would have cost over $100 an hour. I don't make near that much 8 to 5.
You're right, failing to uphold net neutrality and reform immigration is not what we should be upset about. Failing to punish NSA treason, close Gitmo and protect the environment (all issues that did exist during the Democrat supermajority) is what we should be upset about!
If you think the Politicians would be able to do that...well, I got a bridge to sell you.
The crusades are relevant in comparisons of the people performing violent acts. My best guess as I am not a psychologist is a similar level of intelligence, or lack thereof.
I have a newer Chevy Impala with much the same design. I'm hoping I never have to replace the battery. My Taurus on the other hand came out so easy I'm worried the new battery wont stay put. So far so good.
Correction... AT&T in the area I used to live in, charter now.
Slashdot needs an edit command because the one in my brain sucks.

One of the points of government is to make it hard to pass laws to the politicians on any side can't push something no one else agrees with.

On my own computers behind a firewall. I consider use of the password password about the same as having none.

To each their own :)
We just need to deal with a shorter lifespan until our offspring evolve to survive in an office environment.
That's it! I need to find a job where I can work lying down! ...er, wait a second...

That was my thought. Why broadcast any data unencrypted ever? Maybe wireless mouse data as I can't see that being particularly useful...

Corrected that for you.

That little bit tougher adds weight and cost to the rocket. May pay off in the long run but not on the first launch.
