I wonder if the central government is required to obtain a warrant first, or if they can simply demand "unencrypt that google email" without any kind of oversight by the judges. The police have that power now, in regards to searching homes, thanks to the unconstitutional Patriot Act.

Ten years for stealing such a small amount of money is ridiculous, as is the extra 1 million fine on top of it. The CEOs stole 1,000,000 times that amount from US taxpayers and get no punishment.

I agree with the Grandparent Poster that actual light is preferable, just as real actual zoom (using a lens) is better.

If the Pentagon left classified information slip out (i.e. info that they are holding americans without trial; killing innocent women/children; et cetera), then too bad for them. Let them do a better job. A democratic Republic can not work if the leaders treat the People like Serfs (or children).

The People have a right to know because the people are the source from which all legitimate authority comes from. Just as we discovered the truth behind the Watergate or McCarthy scandals, we need to discover the truth today. Not censor it.

As I said just a suspicion but not unprecedented. Of course such a move violates our 9th and 10th Amendment rights.
