I'll agree with this 100%. I've always strayed away from Blackberry/Palm/Windows Mobile because I feel paying the extra money hasn't gotten me anything significant. Furthermore, in Canada, personal data plans are extremely expensive, the iPhone is expected to help drive these prices down.
I agree; if Nielsen is to be taken seriously, the least he could do is make his own site usable. His entries on usability often strike me as bitter and tired. A change of scenery/attitude would do wonders for his ability to influence the design community.
If you're not part of the solution, you're part of the problem. The Kyoto accord is not about redistributing wealth, it's about taking the first step away from our current destructive behaviour towards the environment. We have to start somewhere and even though Kyoto isn't much, it's a start.
As a single track rider, I believe this will catch on. However, this is not going to be the type of technology that average joe will need/want on a bike. This type of system will be very costly on weight, which is a huge issue in most varieties of biking. On the flip-side, downhill bikes generally outweight single track bikes by 10-15 lbs. This being the case, a couple more pounds will not have a great impact on this particular breed of the sport. I think this will catch on at the high end of downhill and dual-slalom area of biking, but not anywhere else until the weight can be drastially cut.
First off, I'd like to say being a student on a limited budget I buy very few games. My collection of modern games includes Starcraft, Quake 2, Red Alert 2, Quake 3 and Warcraft 3 and recently added Need For Speed Hot Pursuit 2. I still play all these games actively. Before I purchased any of these games, I download an illegal warez copy and examined the game inside and out. If I wasn't bored within two weeks, I purchased the game. This leaked release, which I have downloaded and played, has ensured id at least one buyer. Being an avid Quake fan (Unreal sucks) I know I will play this game for hours upon hours. I am extremely excited for the final product, I will fight tooth and nail for a copy on the release date.
This element of the big bang has always puzzled me...to create the big bang a tremendous amount of energy and matter would be required. My question is: how did that energy and matter come in to existance in the first place?

You've failed to realise a large part of your assult argument. Assult is NOT homicide, nobody dies.
If you look in the "Regions" settings, there's nowhere for Canadian users to check:
:(
Subcategories of Regions

United States
The "United States" option expands into the individual states. I know this is beta, but c'mon
In mother Russia, beowulf clusters you!
Firebird 0.8, hmm?
I'll correct myself, it doesn't render properly at 800x600 in Firebird 0.7.
Compare the rendering of the page in Mozilla to IE. I'm using Firebird 0.7 and the header section is borked.
It's nice to see that a Java site such as theserverside.com completely ignores Mozilla. Check it out for yourself...

I missed the "of" too. For a second I thought I was a slashdot subscriber.

I've had my logitech cordless freedom optical keyboard/mouse combo for nearly a year now, with only 4 battery changes. I don't know where that review has been...
Shame on all of you who pirate software. That's my 2 cents, now I'm going to watch my LOTR svcd...
