  1. this seems mostly harmless, and mostly useless... on iCraveTV To Relaunch · · Score: 1

There are very few channels for which these folks want to charge, they are only doing it to Canadians, and they are not charging much. My question is, what's the point? It's not really going to make a lot of money, and if the goal is to be annoying, they could certainly go a lot farther. seems pretty dumb to me.

  2. Re:Selling philosophy disguised as science... on The Mind of God · · Score: 1

You say that mixing up philosophy and physics doesn't make sense, and I must disagree. While they are indeed very different by definition, there are still connections between the two. People are compelled by both, and both are fueled by the human mind's necessity to question. While many people with strong religious beliefs never question them, the original beliefs came from man's desire to know, from questions. I do believe that I have read too many books about genocidic socities and the struggle of the few people who are different from the norm to change those societies. At this point, I don't want to read any more. I wonder if it's true that there's nothing new under the sun, or if we'll eventually be exposed to some great new concept in a wonderfully written sci-fi novel. I'm hoping for the latter...

  5. simply put on UN Wants to Combat Online Racism · · Score: 1

You can not combat racism by telling people they are not allowed to express their views. That's ridiculous. The views will still be there, hidden underneath an extra layer of anger at being forcibly hidden. If anything, that will only harm everyone involved more than if the views were able to be stated openly.
