I file this under the "Golly Gee Whiz" category. Just because you can do it, doesn't mean its a good idea. Why? Any truly demanding application must interact closer to the metal. What's next? An ECMAScript JIT native compiler with optimization for the next wave of CPUs? Why not just write an entire OS with ECMAScript. I just plain don't like it. Here is another reason. How do you demonstrate and establish trust with a site that delivers this type of script? If in the long run only certain authorities are distributing "trustworthy" code, then we may end up with another Microsoft style hegemony.

As far as religion is concerned, its well documented that extremism occurs here in America and is no different than extremism in other parts of the world. Its not much of a stretch to make a link here...
There are "extremist" atheists who verbally decry religion, and there are atheists who adhere to the values of a "religion" aka philosophy without requiring a belief in a deity. I see those people as perhaps the most enlightened and least prone to violence.
Space travel is extreme backpacking!

There are various gateway foods you can eat, such as sushi and in particular uni (sea urchin testes...no shit...nasty), which will make the consumption of silk worms seem like dessert.
