    it s kinda funny how they waited until after they started using unix/bsd as their base o/s

    who do they think they are and how dumb do they think the unix community is?

    one of the things that always bothers me is the amount of programming knowledge i have to have if a driver doesnt autodetect and autoload

    i dont want to nessecarily start debugging drivers under linux or having to compile them
    thats for developers of the drivers.. not the users of the drivers

    so a thumbs up to your vision

    not all files have to be huge, good optimization tools and techinques exist
    also learning how to reuse components helps

    web based 3d is different from rendered 3d

    vrml/x3d has as much prescision as you want to go to, if you wan 1.0 you got it, if you want 1.0000000000000001 you can do that too!

    vrml was designed for 3d on the web not for moving the web to 3d
    all my real world interfaces are 3d {doors lightswitches ....}

    and image quality, well ive seen some poor quality stuff, and some absolutley fantastic stuff as well

    i agree subversion is just cvs with a few nicieties:

    -http transmission of changes, cvs needs its own server subversion works under a regular web server
    -only sends diffs of files not the whole file every time

    commands are relatively similar

    im sure we can all relate to a disgruntled few hours spent trying to get device drivers working on linux

    lets face it installing a device driver is still an easier process on windows, not saying it in faliable either, just saying there are less motions a USER has to go through

    stress testing based on concurrent users hitting script etc is fine,
    but there are other things to make sure of, returnin information and the like

    check out the perl module called webtest or something like that
