actually you want to memorize 6 letter stems, then go to five and 4 letter stems if you want to be competitive. bingos win games, and even the best players have trouble locking a board up against equally skilled players. but strategy will almost always beat word knowledge. I play against people on-line and in RL who use either an electronic scrabble dictionary (franklin mint edition from way back) or websites. And unless they have a bunch of time it still does not help them win. You only have 25 minutes before you start getting hit with a 10 pt per minute or fraction of a minute penalty in tournament rules. I love beating the idiots who use websites, because they nerdrage and accuse me of cheating when they are the ones cheating and losing.

I have a world with over 25 years of development, a very good grasp on game mechanics and a slew of ideas on how to set up randomized quest chains, character skills (both combat and crafting)and the desire to make a PC game out of it all. But owning a business, finishing a MA, working part-time and doing an internship, along with having a GF and a son from my failed marriage, I lack the time to learn how to program games.
Here is a stupid idea probably. I don't buy many games, as I like stuff to work and pirated copies seem to be better in that area. But why not sell the game with a key, and have the buyer use the key to download a part of the game. Then as the player progresses, have new items, abilities etc, etc downloaded using that key. This would not stop piracy, but it would increase the likelihood of people buying a legit copy of the game. If for no other reason than not wanting to wait for the pirates to reach that point in the game, download the info, then post a patch. Throw in an achievement board on a server for the game, and that would do even more to get people to buy the game. And they could cut out the drm BS that breaks the games and pisses people off.

Eh, people were buying donated blood back in the day to leave as evidence. Guy robs stores, fakes cutting hand, leaving a nice blood sample, and if he is ever caught, the blood type doesn't match, and he goes free. And I always liked the idea of visiting several self-car washes and grabbing the bags from the trash cans and vacuums. That way you can make a nice assortment of random evidence to leave, all of it clearly pointing away from you.
Up until about 20 years ago, the likelihood of a person convicted of murder being released and killing again was very low. It had, and still does have the lowest rate of recidivism of all crimes, although it has been climbing. And I killed no one. Convicted of 1 B&E, 1 Burglary, 1 Armed robbery, 1 assault with a deadly weapon inflicting serious injury with intent to kill, Violating the federal Firearms Licensing Act, Possession of Stolen Government property, and an explosives charge for the hand grenades. Note no dead bodies. He had 2 and did less time for two separate killing than I did for my charges in total.

Here's an idea, don't sentence 17 year olds to adult prison sentences that follow them the rest of their lives. I was 17, strung out on Dilaudids and crank, and committed a shitload of crimes that ended up with me having a 37 year state sentence and a 21 year federal sentence run concurrent with the state time. Which I served 15 years of in prison and another 5 on parole. Luckily I was not from a poor family or I would have been really screwed by the system. As it was, I took the time to better myself, get an education and learn a trade. Then upon my release I went to work, thanks to a fellow who did not hold it against me, started my own business and then after 10 years, went back to school. So now I still own my business, an HVAC/R company and am in my final semester of school. I should graduate in May with a MA in Social Work, and have the required number of supervised clinical hours in order to become a LCAS, since the board approved my over 5000 hours as a peer for the DOC while incarcerated as legitimate hours under supervision. Oh, yeah, one thing I learned in prison was this little saying, "Fuck You!"
