Eh, I have not purchased a game without trying it first for several years. I usually Dl them and then see that the critics and reviewers are lying sacks of shit and the game sucks. The only games i have bought and play are GTAVC, GTASA, and World of Goo. The rest get about an hour or two of play, then deleted. If the game companies would make good games I would buy more, but until then I try then delete because my money is too short to waste on BS cookie-cutter games.
Nope, i have games that will not run on Win2k, which is the reason I upgraded to XP two years ago(yeah, I prefer not to be on the cutting edge). Of course, i had ME when it first came out(gateway computer) and it sucked royally. But about a year later, gateway sent me an updated ME, which I ran for three years and it rocked. No crashes, no BSoD,and I used it until mobo burned up and the CD would not load on new computer. Went to Win2K at that point. Reality is that most users, not the/. techno-geeks, are perfectly happy with an operating system that allows them to cruise the web, write papers, run a spreadsheet and do basic stuff. Note that very few people run out and upgrade Office, etc unless they change computers and get it new. Microsoft should keep XP as a basic core OS for normal people and just add SPs and upgrades to it to make it work with newer hardware.
It is America baby. Pretty much outside of contracts and unions, you can be fired for wearing socks the boss doesn't like. It has its drawbacks and it upsides. Drawbacks is that out of work sucks. Upside is that if it is not for cause you get unemployment and most places do not fire you without cause because of unemployment insurance costs along with getting a reputation for firing means it is hard to find good workers.

I have an extreme tolerance to narcotics/opiates. I tell the doctors this and they act like it is no big deal. I did have a kidney stone where I had an older doctor come in and order 4mg of IV dilaud. He ended up giving me 12mg IV over a three hour period to stop the pain. I walked out of the hospital within 20 minutes of the last 4mg. Unfortunately, it is a rare doctor that will do so, most say they have given you all they can prescribe due to the DEA and their draconian drug laws. Pain bad enough for me to be in a doctor's office or emergency room is very bad pain indeed.

Uh, if this passed and they told AT&T, verizon and the other telecoms to shut down the tubes, where is the internet going to go in America? It might stay up for the rest of the world, but the telecoms carry 99% of all traffic and they can shut down the internet in America. I don't consider an ad hoc wireless network where I can connect to my neighbors to be the internet. YMMV.

The reason they go after more consumers of child porn than producers is because it is very difficult to find the producers. While for the most part the consumers are idiots and easy to find. It doesn't work for the WoD, but for child porn it works OK. But, and this is the kicker, they stretch the law and start including grabbing indiscriminately and effecting all of our rights and freedoms by trying to catch every possible child predator. It seems they would do better to give Chris Hanson a badge and send him out, as he seems to be able to pull the offenders in like bees to a flower. because my games and some apps won't run on 2K. If they did, I would still be running 2K, liked it much more than XP.
