    That's all humbug. I live in South Africa, and there is no way me, my friends or any of my family will hand in dead rats for money, not even to mention breading them for said imaginative payment on delivery of dead rodent. It's completely ludicrous and utter drivel.

    Rather skewer them over an open fire, it really brings out the flavor. But care must be taken with those who are carrying young, the veal is especially priceless.

    While you're preparing for a good life later, I'm living a good life now. I've seen too many people that only plan for the future, throwing away their life to get some imagined success later. You have to enjoy life NOW.

    Sure, some thought should be put into also having a good life later, but getting outside is not going to do that for me. In fact, it's much more likely that staying inside and working

    On the contrary, you can be out getting fit and train to become a ninja machine. The ultimate career, ninja hacker.

    Same here, and Indie games still have that effect on me. The Humble Indie Bundle is closed now but check the type of games they offer. DRM free multi platform.

    Degrees of trickery include hidden messages, slight of hand, to fudging IP addresses.

    That's why I prefer indie game companies who bring out really interesting games.

    Some I have been playing lately: World of Goo, Cogs Game, VVVVVV.

    No affiliation with these games, I just love what they do. They remind me of when games first appeared for the PC, when creativity motivated game design, not the quest for uber realism.

    As we know, "its super cool to be uber realistic on hardware because it's just a simulation and not really real. So it's cool that way."...

    Gimme a break! Gimme a real game.

    Its not bad at all, it feels however that modern IDE debugging is pushing away too much from the manual approach to trace down a bug.

    It would have been better if modern debugging methods complimented the manual method, and not try push it out of the scene.

    Most of the points in TFA relates back to the new debugging methods to "inspire new trends".

    Remarkably little open source adoption, which is why I think Ubuntu is pushing so hard. Good IMHO.

    Remember our infrastructure and internet culture was about 10-15 years behind the states, but that gap is closing. For a country of such size, we make 5.7% of world internet users (vs 22% EU and 23% USA).

    Many companies are stuck with Microsoft systems and similarly commercial software. Working for 8+ years in software development in South Africa, I know two companies who adopted FOSS in the last 12 months.

    You may even see articles like this one, with 3 family members who work for the local government, I haven't seen much of that FOSS preaching.

    On the other hand, this is a great opportunity here!

    Who wants to make a startup with me? ;D
