  1. Out to get us/Linux Support on FireWire For Windows XP, But No USB 2.0 · · Score: 4

Now I *know* they are out to get us. It is a conspiracy to make you buy new hardware. The *day* after I bought my first USB keyboard, this story comes out... Consider:

    - AT to ATX (Legit upgrade, no consipracy there)
    - Socket to Slot back to Socket (definitely a conspiracy)
    - USB to Firewire (then back to USB after 2.0)

    Grrr...

    Must upgrade... Must upgrade...

    Maybe I am just insane...

Also, on a related note, did anyone else notice the GREAT USB support of Linux? RH setup detects my Microsoft optical mouse during setup, and Windows ME doesn't... Now *that* is weird...

Again, when if M$ coming out with their "fork"? I am not talking about an experimental (buggy?)version.

Ah, it doesn't matter anyway. Call it a troll, but M$ is just going to redefine fork the way they redefine all the rest of the "standards" they implement.

    Perhaps you should RTFA.

    I like the versatility.

It is not only extremely useful in a CGI aspect (though, arguably not as efficient as some "out of the box" -- i.e. modperl), but it is also very useful for many other things. I use it quite a bit as a cross-platform scripting language. It is nice to take things written on my BSD box, and run them on my desktop with ActiveState Perl.

There are modules for everything, from processing PDF to controlling your X10 stuff.

It doesn't get any better than that, IMHO...

So, when is M$ coming out with "fork" for Windows? 8^)

It seems to me that they are just trying to make it so difficult that nobody will be able to follow their "approved" procedures. I can't see the feasability of them being the only "authoritative" party to release "approved" recordings.

This has just proven further to me that all that will happen is people will stop using Napster and start using another one client/network until such time as it gathers too much attention and becomes a target.

Case in point: OLGA... (Online Guitar Archive) It moves when it attracts too much attention. Though I haven't found the new site yet... 8^( Time to visit google.
