What about when you take the car to a race track for a lapping day? The log will show a couple hours of continues "agressive" driving. Or an autocross, where there is this 15 second spurt of ridiculous sawing at the steering wheel, both the gas and the brakes down, etc.
Also, what if you jack the tires off the ground, and spin the car up to 150 miles an hour?
I got into programming with Qbasic by studying Nibbles and gorilla. I remember modifying the code and break both program so many times before acchieving anything useful. And as I was 9 at the time, I thought it was really cool to steal the dollarsign intro screen they used for my own programs.
It requres that you pay an MS tax, because it is very small, debian installs without any problems, the screen runs in an excellent resolution, and it is an amazing deal.

Every time a new finding like this comes about everybody screams bloody murder. But who really cares? Netscape/Aol/Whatever else is not going to attack you because you looked at porn, or how to make bombs, or how to eat children. If their numbers allow them to set up better searching parameters, then let them know all about me.
ITs not that General Thade loves Ari. He actually has contempt for her for being a human sympathizer, which is why he is capable of hurting her as he does. However, Ari's father is VERY powerful and if he marries her he gets that influence as well, thats why he pretends to love her.
Why is everybody in this country (USA) so against
nuclear power? We insist on using fossil fuels, then complain that we are producing 2 much pollution. But heaven forbid we allow for nuclear energy! Its cleaner than fossil fuel, safer, lasts longer... So honestly, why does the public of our country dislike the idea of a nuclear powerplant so much?
Why is everybody so against the eye in the sky?
I'm not trying to flame, I'm trying to be serious.
I know I have nothing to hide from big brother, and if he wants to look into what I'm doing to keep me safer, all the better. The FBI or CIA or whatever does not care a/b whether you cheat on your wife, or skip work for a day. They only care a/b whether you are breaking the law. So if they come up with systems that allow them to better test whether or not you are breaking the law, why fight that? How will this camera system affect any of you negatively? All it means is known criminals won't want to hang aorund Tampa as much b/c of the chance of getting caught. PErsonally, if I were a Tampa resident, I would find that very exciting. Great awy to lower crime.
Our high school robotics team (Weston, MA), entered the tournament with our robot named Zurn. During the trials it acted incredibly, however it managed to mess up on all three of our actual runs. In my opinion the most challenging part was getting everything to work together. Also, tweaking it was very difficult. We used an infra-red sensor ot find the candle, and when we turned it to be really sensetive, it would ignore the candle, and when it was set to be very liberal, it would go after the reflection of hte candle on the walls. In my opinion it is a great contest because its a very difficult task to do completely autonomously so it gives robotics teams a lot to do!
(although I was pushing our other co-president to do battlebots!)
Can somebody please clue me in to why I am doing all right? I am using Tik and GAIM at the same time (tik monitors who is online and turns on LEDs on an led display I set up, and I use GAIM to actually talk to people). However they are both able to log in fine and I'm not having any troubles. Why is this? And is it likely that I will have trouble logging in at some point?
Why are hydrogen cars so popular? There is 0 to be gained from building hydrogen cars. Contrary to popluar belief, there is no help to the enviroment. Hydrogen is NOT abundant in nature. The only source of it is water. However, the hydrogen atoms are bonded to oxygen atoms in water, and need to be seperated. The only way to seperate the atoms is woth force. So to extract hydrogen from water to use as fuel, a processing plant needs to be built which will extract the hydrogen. B/c this country is very much against nuclear power, the plant that seperates this will probably use fossil fuels. This means that to produce a tank of hydrogen, a lot of fossil fuel will be burned. This does not help the enviroment. All this does, is moves the source of pollution from the individual car, to one centralized plant. While adding an additional step (The processing of the water), to lose effeciciency. It would be a much wiser invesetment of all thees companie's time to find some magical way of producing hydrogen, or developing electric cars. After all, combustion isn't very efficient. Why must we insist on using it?
A master list of document types and the programs that run them.
Windows would do well to disolve the registry, it is pure bloat. and if somebody tris to tell you linux/etc/ is cryptic ask them to find and change values in their registry!
This article talks about how evil everything is. We constnatly attack the FBI for invading our privacy. However, I do not feel too invaded. I have no complaints with them listening into my phone calls or reading my e-mail because I know thye are only concerned with people doing things that are truly wrong, and I am not doing anything wrong so who cares? believe it or not, there are bad people in the world. People who would like to assisinate the president (esp. mr. controversial Bush), as well as terrorists who wouldn't mind making a statement in the US. And I woudln't mind knowing that there are people out there protecting me from that.
The RIAA is another super evil for attacking "free speech" I love free speech to death, and would definately be annoyed if I could not complain about stuff out loud, however that does not mean I have the right to piracy. Any bimbo can log on and copy any album they want. That can't be just "Free speech". I have always felt the RIAA is going about this wrong for they will never be able to stop the pirates, for piracy has been around forever, and that they should work out a system where the musician is paid once, handsomly, to create the hit and then it is made publicaly available and it is up to the individuals to spend the transfering costs, however I do not feel they are evil for trying to protect their profits. This is similiar to the MS monopoly. We all hate them b/c they are the big monopoly. Howeve,r how did they get there? If there were other products that were as convinient for business and people to use as MS, then the businesses would, b/c they care about themselves more then a/b MS, and would gladly switch if it meant money saved. This is not flamebait, and I'm going to hope that I either get moderated down enough that nobody reads this, or that those who do do'nt send me e-mails calling me some sort of neo-facist or something. But I had to add my two cents beause I feel the nerd community tends to attack things without really having a good reason.
I use Linux, and am very happy with it for my house use. But, before all you keep a/b how terrible MS is, and how their products were not the best, why not think a/b the facts? MS has a monopoly. Are you going to say the poeple never had a choice what software to use? Of course not, they did. and MS was the best. so it became #1. and b/c it is still the best, it willr emian #1. Think of your old grandmother, can you see her using any other OS? not Mac, b/c macs are just stupid, and not linux b/c I for one dont' want to have to explain to my grandmother ohw to compile a tarball she downloaded just to get aol instant messanger clone that won't have anywhere near as simple functionality as the original. So maybe MS has a monopoly b/c hte majoriy of computer users are NOT programmers, and their windows OS is the best for them. So stop being jealous that Microsoft produces good products and figure out why it does, and make linux better at it!
I'm seeing lots of talk about how if linux could only become "deployed" by OEMs it would be the next best thing since sliced bread. But OEMs will NEVER use it until they can make a profit. And they cna't make a profit off an operating system that isn't profitable to the companies they sell to. all companies will rely on windows b/c it is compatible and for the user who doesn't care what OS he runs, it is simple and effective. Unless the community makes a concentrated effort on changing linux DRAMATICALLY such that the typical user who only wants to surf the internet and word process can do it better then with windows, then nobody would gain by switching companies over to it.
I use linux and love it, but I'm a programmer. The typical user is not a programmer. the typical user wants to remain compatible, and wants ease of use, and wants multimedia. and you can not tell me that linux makes it easy to be compatible, or that linux is easy to use. if you tell me linux is easy to use, then I'll point out that every time I add a piece of hardware I have to reada howto, wheras with windows I could just Plug and play, and if yout ell me it is good for multimedia, I'll ask you a/b DVD, a/b quicktime, about netscape plugins, and all sorts of stuff, that havn't been developed because there isn't enough commercial demand for them.
So I ask that all us linux users stop fantasizing about the day companies switch over to linux, and make it something that companies would WANT to do.
How a/b random races that don't really exsist, like the 3-eyed thief?
Or an Elf being affected by the hold spell?
Warriors being able to cast magic?
While wearing armor?
Although my favorite error wasn't a DND error. When Ritley gets stabbed, it is across the chest with a horizontal slash. However, after being healed the injury on his shirt shows a verticle slash by the shoulder blade.
I disagree. I think a student trying to set up his own linux box might want to be sure his services are running on the standard ports, or might want to check to be sure he doesn't write a program to take a port that is used by some standard service.
If you walked down a corridor, and tried every door, but did not open one even if it was unlocked, would that be bad? Thats what port scanning is like. Plus, I have often scanned a friend of mine's machine to figure out what port certain services are supposed to run on. In that regaurd it is unlike looking at doors in a coridor b/c you don't get anything useful out of it.
But linux is the most open source friendly OS. And it would definatley help. And all the mailing lists are just people asking questions w/o any answers. B/c there is no strong push for this kind of stuff with the MacOS.
I have a mac at my house I got for free, and I tried putting linuxPPC onto it. The CD I spent way too much money on arrived, but whenI try to install it, it claims it can't find any of the files that are on the CD. I downloaded an install image, burnt it, and tried it. Same story. After a full day I got frustrated and gave up for now. So my advice for somebody trying to promote opensource for the mac is:
You know, I realized this right as I submitted it, but it was too late to fix my error. But still, a car battery is capable of giving an incredible spike of power, but its still at 12 volts, which is why you don't die when you touch the two contacts, so the show was still wrong:P

I am not impressed with this idea in the least.

Too bad you can't open multiple windows of it. Netscape you can have multiple windows, in different workspaces. Opera you can't.
Anybody else find it funny that you can download his document, the founder of .pdf, in .pdf format?
