You're correct. It's more like a 3rd type of basic vehicle powertrain design. It has no need for any driver input into the selection of gears or motive power source. All the powertrain wants from you, as the driver, is an acceleration input and a braking input.
There is a difference between building and assembling though...
Things may be built on Earth then ferried to the Moon only to be assembled into much larger vehicles to be launched from the Moon. I fail to see how a launcher like this would be a bad idea
From what I've seen with friend's phones, Virgin is one of the most competitive companies in Oz too. It just seems like the US is only just starting to get into the pre-paid market.
My plan is not the cheapest. Not by far, but I've never had an excess usage charges and I use mine all the time - as in, I've almost forgotten what a home phone looks like. I can't recall the exact details of how many minutes I get for free. As usual, YMMV.
I can't believe the US is lagging so much with cell phones. In Australia, pre-paids are big business and the prices are reasonable. You can pick up a pre-paid phone for AUS$90 with about $30 of credit. We've had this for years! As far as I know, so has Europe where cell phone penetration is even greater.
Personally, I spend about AUS$40 a month on a plan that gives me huge amounts of calls and SMSs.
This is the defeatist attitude that makes sure the staus quo stays the same.
I don't want to live in a society where I need performance enhancing substances to get by in the corporate world. I *DO* use recreational drugs but if it becomes necessary to use similar substances to make a living, I for one, will be moving to the hills and putting up "No Trespassing" signs.
Panasonic have a new type - Primary Nickel. I've been using them in digital cameras for a while andthey tend to work a lot better than your normal alkalines.
Hate to nitpick but 35mm film frames are not 4:3, they're 3:2.
A standard photo print is a 4x6 inch sheet. When you print digital camera files without cropping the image, you will end up with blank borders on the short ends (or and image size 4x5.4 inches or so)
Well, hopefully things like the Gateway Goback will help lessen the fear. Being able to 'goback' to before a driver messed up or installation went bad is pretty darn nice; wish I had that back in the dos days:>
I agree with everything you said except this one quote. I tend to think that learning how to fix problems that I created really helped me learn. Hell, messing with an old DOS box was one of the best things I could have done when I was a young teenager. I'm sure I'm a better geek for it. This "Goback" thing is just another dumbing down of the user-base.
So... how long before we get the Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Cars (SPCC)? Will you get charged for car abuse? Can the SPCC take your car into custody because you didn't keep it in a nice clean garage?
I guess this makes my 2gig drive obsolete now (like it wasn't already). Hell, if I bought a new drive tomorrow it would be obsolete yesterday. Let's just hope this holographic storage idea isn't just theoretical vapourware.
This is crazy! This opens the way forgames which you pay a lease for so that you can play them for a certain length of time. If this is the way that consumer entertainment is going (pay-per-view, pay-per-play, etc) I don't want to be a part of it. I want my Mega Drive (Sega Genesis) back!
.. is in the eye of the beholder - this amphorism works in this case too. But anyone who has had a chance to look at M$ MFC or Native Winblows code would have to agree that you would have to be blind to find beauty in any of that kludge. But code is not s'possed to be pretty. It's gotta work. That's what it's there for.
Code On.

AFAIK (At least in Australia), there is no such thing as an MT Hybrid. The driver is not supposed to have direct control of the petrol engine.

Eddie's in the time/space continuum?!?!? How do we get him out?

I'll drink to that. If mine knew half the truth I'd still be chained to the radiator (at 23).

Digital Rebel : Better known as the Canon 300D outside of USA.

This is correct but the size of the image snesor is so much smaller than a 35mm film that this f/8 is about equivalent to f/4 of maybe even f/3.5.
The N64 is already DC powered, as is the PSX. They both just use AC adapters. The N64 one looks sorta back-to-front as compared to a normal plug pack.

That would make this particular incarnation bareable but it does set a dangerous precedent for the furture of entertainment.
